Hopefully we see McKennie play this weekend MCKENNIE AVAILABLE SUNDAY Jesse Marsch provides an update on Weston's availability for Leeds' match at Forest on Sunday, saying: "He's fit. He's ready ... He's in consideration to start, and certainly to be in the squad." Baby Eagle ready to fly. 🇺🇸🏴🦅🌳 pic.twitter.com/ihcJxgPNEs— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) February 3, 2023
I would pay the price of a EPL ticket to watch a training. Everyone always whining about this or that without having even the tiniest insight into what is *actually* going on in a squad or with a player. I can very much imagine Wes being a chest thumping terror (in all the best ways) in training. A lot of his success has to be down to the innate force of his character.
Big break for Leeds on Wes' debut. Man United will be without Casemiro, who is now on a red card suspension. They will likely face a midfield of Fred-Fernandes-Sabitzer. Got to think Adams-Roca-McKennie can out-duel them and control the game in midfield. Then it'll come down to whether Leeds do better w/ their probably greater chances - which is always a question. They improved in defense, but not as much as they should have.
Didn't Sabitzer play for RBL with Adams? Think he was one of the reasons Adams got pushed to rb at times. Better offensively while Adams is better defensively. They may see a lot of each other.
Weston on the bench. I kind of thought he might start, but I guess Marsch thought it was too soon. 📋 #LUFC Starting XI to face Forest pic.twitter.com/LB54CrK5sw— Leeds United (@LUFC) February 5, 2023
I could see Wes coming in for Harrison, taking Gnonto's slot and Gnonto shifting out to the LW spot, where he operates a lot anyway. Looking at that lineup it seems so obvious that they could have made a big leap forward by acquiring a left back. Struijk could go to CB, where he is much better. And Cooper to the bench, where he is much better also.

They should’ve been up 4-1 by the time he entered the game. I was surprised by some of his turnovers but felt like his positioning was pretty good and he was unafraid to try line breaking passes despite the circumstances. Most of Leeds’ set piece opportunities took place before he subbed on. Very frustrating match
Not a good debut but Leeds were toothless in the second half. Mostly aimless long balls to no one. Marsch had no answer to Forests second half adjustments. Still deserved a point given how they looked in the first half.
I agree. And this is why he should stay far away from the US MNT coaching job. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Chicago Fire fan and have followed Jesse for years and appreciate what he does. I just don’t think his style is compatible with what is needed for a national team coach.
That was tough to watch, hopefully Leeds can stay up. I don't see where Wes fits in with the current formation, he isn't a 10 and I don't think him and TA work as a double pivot.
The only place Leeds was getting decent movement in the final third was playing Gnonto in, or him taking the ball on the dribble. They should have overloaded his side to break the added attention Aurier brought - I see that Aaronson was not 100%, but this game kinda screamed for a guy who could play in tight spaces, and free up some room for Gnonto to get into the box with a head of steam. Not sure what Wes was supposed to be doing in the tactical formation when he came on, but he wasn't doing whatever folks thought he should. Kind of non-existent when he wasn't giving the ball away. Hope Rutter can score. They need a bit.
It's Leeds and it's the Premiership. Short of stabbing him on the field, no one is getting a PK for fouling Gnonto.
He was prime for one today, just couldn't get the ball far enough off the goal line. They kept playing him into the corner where he got cul de saced. Forrest got dinged for fouling him out near touch a few times, but Leeds got no idea how to get in on goal atm.
Wasn’t able to watch but just caught the highlights. Dire finishing. They left 4 goals out there in the first half. Incredibly poor finishing.
