Supposedly he reacted angrily to not being a starter vs. Arsenal (and to very limited PT post world cup), so Pep and City felt that they did not have a choice to keep him, as no one is 'bigger than the club'. It will be interesting to see how he slots in at Bayern and whether they elect to purchase him in the summer. Otherwise Mendes will have to find another club which can afford that sort of transfer fee and wages, preferably outside of England, where there are not nearly so many rich clubs. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...rdiola-DETERIORATED-leading-heated-chats.html
Sadly, I was right on this one. Should have sold Dembele in January when his stock was somewhat high. This was always bound to happen and happen soon. At the very least we could have bought someone like Carrasco with the revenue from a Dembele transfer. Too late now obviously His goals won't be missed, at least.
He had a good spell this time around being injury free. Let's see how he returns after this. It is what it is at this point.
That's more of a criticism at Barca as a club. For whatever reason, they seem to be a bit secretive about players injuries.
Typical [emoji599] JUST IN: Barcelona thought about bringing back Abde, but Osasuna refused. @fansjavimiguel #Transfers
Bellerin not training with the group and is free to find another club. Sporting being his likely destination.
Forgot we even had him. Talk about a player whose career disintegrated to nothing in a hurry. He's only 27!
Busqs was great again last night ! So many saying he can’t run …. yet in this clip showing their dangerous breakaway it was Busqs who was first to put pressure on the guy who messed up his pass . Our boy Christensen running like Forrest Gump there 🔥🔥🔥pic.twitter.com/otsw0rwWhv— ᑳarçalεv 🇺🇦🇵🇸 (@Barsalev) February 2, 2023
lol That video shows 2 Barca players blowing past Busquets. Is ok though. Its not a track meet. Speed isn't everything, especially not for a DM.
Yeah .. my point was that after that super fast breakaway HE was the first to actually engage .. To hear some speak he just walks around the centre circle
Since he gets dumped on a good deal by Barca fans this is worth posting I think: 6 - No LaLiga player has been involved in more goals than Raphinha in 2023 between all competitions (6 - 3 goals and 3 assists, equal with Youssef En-Nesyri, 6 goals). Impact. pic.twitter.com/UfgxuKWnms— OptaJose (@OptaJose) February 1, 2023
Even with Kounde's own goal and Balde nearly getting an assist earlier (both vs. Betis), this is a nice defense. We're bring defense BACK:
And today he gets the hockey assist (pre-assist) to Kessie who assisted Alba's goal, then he assisted Gavi's goal with a beautiful pass, and finally scored the third (great assist by Alba).
Barca has 3 of the top 4 (and we own the 3rd guy, Abde, as well) Liga expected assists per 90 minute players: In terms of actual assists vs. expected, Barca has 4 players who are tied for 5th place in La Liga with 4 assists: Lewa, Dembele, Balde, and Raphinha; and 2 players tied for 16th place with 3: Alba and Fati. https://www.besoccer.com/competition/rankings/primera_division/2023/assists/1
The La Liga guys were speculating that he’d been kicked or stamped on ( metatarsal) when I thought it was clear as day that he went over on his ankle
They are saying 2-3 weeks for Busquets. I'll take that as the injury looked worse than it is if it ends up being under 3 weeks, but it does mean he probably misses both legs against Man Utd.
Indeed. All of that plus the general sense of feeling unseen and useless compared to his brother the Goat. Though from the sound of it, he seems pretty useless compared to the average human even.
Good La Masia graphic shows who has played a match under Xavi (blue shirt), or been called up on a game day squad (but not play - red shirt), and all of those who have practiced with the first team (white shirt).
Ansu Fati's number 10 shirt is not selling at FC Barcelona's official stores; almost no one is buying them. The club is starting to get worried. @fansjavimiguel [
I see many Barca fans online wanting Fati out in the summer. It's a bit disappointing to be honest. He deserves another season to gain his confidence back if that's what his problem is. He is still 20 and has potential. If the club determines it's something physical, then I guess I could see the club trying to get some money for him. But damn ... look at the patience the club had with Dembele. And while he has done well this season, it's not like he has been world class and is far from repaying back what has been invested in him. I'd be really disappointed in the club if they decide to sell Fati this summer.
