And that's the difference between running your own business and benig an investmwnt fund. As a sole owner, you can afford to go balls deep with losing money to protect your image and principles, while the investment company is after mitigating bad outcomes now, not worrying what that leads to in the future. If Pallotta had frozen Destro like that back then, Zaniolo would not have happened today. Their shared agent would've learned the lesson, if not Zaniolo himself.

We have had the hype Serie A dream attack for half a year now - Dybala, Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Bellottiand the last widely wanted player on the Roma sub-forum before he came and didn't light up Rome on fire to close the door please. Out of those only Dybala is worth his salt, the rest are just fermenting trash.

Zaniolo skips individual training without Roma's permission https://t.co/BWvpzXbkGS— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) January 31, 2023
His level on loan at Cagliari was exceptional. Rarely do you see such confidence from a novice. Yet another top young player badly managed with Juve at the time trying to buy up all they could.

Zaniolo's legal team advise him not to pursue lawsuit against Roma https://t.co/xzHHl3ylMS— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) February 1, 2023
I can see the argument, there is some value to setting example, I still think he needs to be moved in the summer though. Exile for the half season and then recoup what you can, reinvest and move on. I don't see much more value in freezing him out next year as well.
Zaniolo releases statement: “For the first time these days I was afraid and I felt abandoned. It had never happened to me and I got very scared. The future is in our hands: I stretch mine and I put myself at the complete disposal of the Roma family.” https://t.co/2RZQmYuhMR— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) February 1, 2023 ZANIOLO UOMO DI MERDA
What an absolute cluster fcuk of a situation.... On the bright side, the team is at least playing as well as it probably has ever done under Mou right now. Big month ahead with many winnable games. We could be still right in the mix for top 4 come mid March if we manage not to fcuk things up. Not something I'd have thought only a couple months back.
Making a good example for the rest of the players? Over the years, I've observed players taking the same defiant stance towards Roma's management, engaging in underhanded dealings with big teams to sell themselves below market value. Take Emerson, Cassano, Chivu, and Benatia as examples. The root of the problem lies in the failure of our management to exert the necessary control and influence. I know it's unethical, but the truth is that their managers are more effective at manipulating these players than our own management.
Roma are still feuding with Nicolò Zaniolo, but are reportedly ready to welcome Rick Karsdorp back into the fold after his row with Jose Mourinho https://t.co/mzBmd14EeQ #ASRoma #SerieA #SerieATIM #Calcio— Football Italia (@footballitalia) February 2, 2023
has no choice but to reinstate him back to the squad, you guys only have 2 healthy fullback after all
When is it time to have an honest discussion about Tiago Pinto? How does everyone rate him? When we signed him, I assumed he’d be doing much more scouting in South America and bringing in top talents as he did for Benfica. Our only gift from him from South America was Vina… I also believe that most of our signings were Mourinho signings and not Pinto’s: Abraham Matic Dybala Patricio Whereas Pinto has underperformed in bringing in some good, but mostly bad: Good: Celik Too early to tell: Solbakken, Camara, Gini Bad: Vina, Shomorodov, Svilar, Belotti,
Compared to the Sabatini teams, we are now: Weaker at GK Weaker in Defense, but almost adequate at times Significantly Weaker and Understaffed in Midfield Bar Dybala and El Shaarawy, lacking any offensive edge, sparks, presence So it's a shit-show all around and from those, the one place that hurts us the most being midfield, we're doing the least about. Not sure how much of this is money-driven and how much it is Pinto/Mourinho not addressing the glaring problem in our squad. We're not able to find those 1 out of 3 gem players as we used under Sabatini, now it's just a parade of tramps.
We havent seen Camara for awhile and now he has been excluded from the EL squad too. It would appear Mou isnt impressed.
I’d probably really start to judge after next summer. There was/is so much deadwood left by Monchi and Petrachi, it was always going to be a 2 - 3 year recovery. Even now there’s still players from that era that will come back from loan in the summer that no one wants. Dybala on a free though is easily the best signing in a very long time.
Beggars can't be choosers. This will be the kind of players you guys will be linked with for another 4 years until ffp restrictions over. There isn't much to chose from free players / loan market Luis Muriel could join Roma as a free agent in summer https://t.co/dUuRMSSmJ7— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) February 3, 2023 Dybala is an exception, not rules. 1 dybala : 100 shit finished injury prone players Now i do wonder what kind of "Roma project" that were offered to Mourinho at the beginning by Friedkin and Pinto , and how long the process might be required to reach the goal.
So it was indeed him who injured Gini. He is the reason why matic - cristante start all the time Felix Afena-Gyan relieved at Gini Wijnaldum’s return from injury: “It was a great joy for me to see him again on the field. My foul on him was not intentional. I’m sure he will be of great help to Roma.” https://t.co/LTxUb1NNRb— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) February 3, 2023 Mourinho was too kind for protecting him back then
