I have a feeling that RM management are willing to take or sacrifice a trophy-less season, and for that reason aren’t strengthening the squad. They want specific Fichajes (like Mbappe, investing in young potential talents, or really good opportunities) and are prioritising the economic situation of the club above everything (we saw Flo speaking about this issue a lot in his interview with Pederol, and about the importance of the Super league to “save football” due to the pandemic and bad economy)
The team shouldn't be immune from criticism, personally i suppose we just have differing opinions on how we think the season will turn out, but, everyone was doom and gloom last season too, supposed transitional season as well, team seeming lazy, but we all know how that turned out, We obviously won't always win, that's unrealistic, no matter who's on the team or if we play every single game at maximum intensity, i imagine it comes down to lots of different fans with different personalities from all over the world who all support the team in different ways, i personally believe we will win this season, in the end, yes WE IS MADRID!! ,i could care less about Farca, we can beat this version of that team, we've already done it so that's a fact. Yes toxic positivity as far as Arsenal and Manure fans are concerned seeing as their teams haven't really won jack for years and spent ages languishing down their league table, however we as Madrid fans are just coming off a League and CL double, are second in the league, have qualified for the next round of CL and have gotten further in the Copa than we have for years, so no, we aren't in the same bracket as those fans when it comes to being positive, it's warranted IMO, actually not being positive might be leaning towards entitlement .......
JM got our squad to buy into us vs the world mentality and that can work in the short run but longer term players don't want the weight of world on their shoulders like that. Let's see what happens this spring, we can only improve and they can only revert to the mean a bit.
It's a mix of both. I also think people often see a chance/opportunity in mediocrity when things aren't going too great.
Criticizing the team is ok as is wanting more from the team. but there is a line between that and the panic where in the first sign of trouble, people want players that have proven themselves over and over gone and fire the manager that won the double last year when no one expected much from us. There are ups and downs in the season, there are transitional seasons, the leadership and the players have shown me enough to be patient and trust them. That doesn’t make me strange, that makes me reasonable
Lol I’m the captain of that crew but it’s mostly been with the ones trying to act like all of our players and coach are shit and the only good players are the ones playing elsewhere
I think there is a reasonable expectation that the guys here put in a shift. The game against Barca for example was extremely lackadaisical at certain moments like their third goal. There are areas that need reinforcement but much of our issues go back to who is playing and who's on the bench.
