Its not bad for him to stay at all. Benfica have CL football and Enzo dont need EPL to proof his quality. He dominated the midfield throughout the WC while playing against teams like Netherlands, Croatia and France.

Ok , time to watch chelsea. Enzos role is an under appreciated role in modern football , where people are obsessed with goals and assists.
Hope The label of transfer fee wont create burden on his head.

Really wished him to wait till Summer , i thought clubs like RM will need replacement for their aging midfield.

Wish he'd seen out this season at Benfica. Obviously a great move for him financially, not so sure football wise, doesn't seem as if Chelsea will qualify for champions league next season via the league. Guess we'll have to see how it pans out for him, hope he does well.

If you are an English player and you have played 2 games in the premier league you are automatically 'worth' £45m. :D:D

I am not too fond of a Chelsea move (although maybe them investing so much in a “super team” could mean Enzo will have the chance to be fundamental to a big project in the future) and would have also liked a Real move, but you have to be realistic here.. RM is not in the Galacticos days anymore and rarely splurges such triple figures on players (maybe a player like Mbappe would be the sole exception). At most, they would have offered 60m or so, which is half of what Benfica wanted. They wouldn’t have even gotten to the table. The only sides other than Chelsea capable of actually paying the release clause were probably Man City and Man United.

People keep saying this, but Champions League isn’t everything.. it’s only a small part of the season.

In England he’ll be playing the best teams in the world on a weekly basis and therefore forced to stay on his toes. In Portugal he was facing the likes of Maritimo, Gil Vicente, Familicao, and Pacos Ferreira. Those rivals or Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, etc? Which one do you think is better for his development?

Plus, regarding the Champions League argument, Benfica was doing great and all, but they were only one loss away from the whole dream being crumbled and having to settle for the mediocre Portuguese league.

I agree, the CL argument will perhaps only be a year. Chelsea have been spending to build a team, so they should compete. I’m kinda excited to see what he’ll do.

It does appear some of the Benfica supporters are upset with him leaving. They wanted him to stay until end of the year. Dude, your club just a made a ton of money. Your supporting director, Rui Costa, did not have to answer calls about the move if you wanted to keep him until the end of the year. They’re perhaps more upset that they do not have a replacement for him. There is no time left. They were in the hunt for Alcaraz and Perrone but did not pull the trigger when there was an opportunity.

We may have to watch the EPL more often now.

Another double for Icardi. He’s scored a few of these headers so far this season. Maybe, he’s finding that form again but then again it is in Turkey. I do wonder what his next move will be. He’s apparently up for another contract. Probably in the Arab world.

Ruso Ascacibar is back in Argentina and is playing for Estudiantes. I was surprised to see him back when he played against Tigre. I had no idea he returned back home.

Hopefully this is what he needs to get his career back on track. He is still 25, so he does have time.

Look, let's get one thing clear, playing another few months in the Portuguese league for Benfica is not like working down a salt mine doing a 20 hours shift for £1 a day. And the champions league is everything to the top clubs and players.

My main problem with Chelsea is they're buying players left and right with no discernable plan. I'm also not convinced by Potter as a manager. I'm scared Enzo gets benched if the whole team continues to play poorly because nobody really knows what they're doing. Maybe this all gets sorted out during the summer though.

In his mind , "I scored 3 penals in WC final and lost, how meaningless these penalties would be even if I scores" :ROFLMAO:

Actually, you could tell the golie pretty much has anticipated his shooting direction, which was exactly the same spots as his penalties in that final. The worst part was he missed the follow up tap in after that second penalty lol

Lovely goal by Messi last night, with Ruiz plating a great Messi type ball through to him :)

Mbappe missing twice taken pen, couldn't he have done that in the world cup final :)
