Does the Eredivisie allow parent clubs to pick up a share of the player's salary? If they do, that sounds like a way of driving a very large bus through the non-EU salary and its purpose.
Most of AZ' youngers are reportedly paid next to nothing, but the top 10 are all paid over the foreign minimum (and I wonder what's up with Sugawara - most reports have him at under non-EU minimum. Any chance he has a 2nd passport - or, more likely, the info on the internet is crap. I don't know off hand how Netherlands treats any "carry back" by loaning club. Seems like it must allow some, but does it allow the loaning club's portion to cut into the non-EU minimum? I dunno.
A possible loan to Ligue 2 (with OM paying all of his salary)? According to our information, Konrad de la Fuente could be the next recruit of AS Saint-Étienne. Track revealed by GaelB42 , it is a dry loan which awaits the American international in Forez, Olympique de Marseille should take charge of all of his salary if the deal takes place between the two clubs. https://www.envertetcontretous.fr/a...tml?utm_campaign=post-auto&utm_medium=twitter
Hopefully they don’t make him pay for his uniform and locker room access. St Etienne is 19th in the table. Is he up for a relegation battle?
He has the ability, but he has to show that he has the mental capacity to handle the pressure of being a pro and the discipline to play in a team. No better place to prove the doubters wrong than a relegation struggle. It's just a pity that a relegation struggle is the only place that can be found for him, and with Marseille picking up his entire salary at that
Have to develop trust as a loanee in a relegation battle. Are you willing to scrap and battle for every point possible or are you just there to showcase for your next club? He doesn’t have to worry if St Etienne goes down as his contract goes to June 2025.
With the way things have been going, any PT at all at anything resembling a decent level would be fantastic. Kid might be out of professional soccer pretty quick if he doesn't get it together. Or, like, playing in Finland or something for $25k.
Man, what a terrible buy for Marseille. I remember thinking it was a big risk at the time. They paid 4.5m Euros for a Barcelona academy member who had a bad u20 WC, USMNT debut against a weak opponent, and was already 20. This was in the midst of an economic recession too. Now they're having to pay all his salary on these loans that have been failed so far. You have to take some risks in the transfer market. But on paper, some make more sense than others. This was one that made less sense. And so far it's been a mini disaster. It's not been on the level of a major money transfer. But you can only afford so many of these too before you get into financial and in turn competitive trouble.
I mean, if Saint Etienne takes him on loan with OM paying his entire salary, it’s pretty alarming. Free transfers are always uncertain because teams are taking a flyer whereas if a transfer fee is paid, the team is invested in the player and he’ll definitely get a shot. But on free transfers, at least the team is still paying his salary. But if a team gets a player and doesn’t even pay any of his salary, it’s almost like they’re getting a volunteer intern. How little can you want someone? If this move happens, Konrad better take advantage of it. I’m not sure what is next for him if he doesn’t do well
Marseille pays his salary but there must be a condition in the loan agreement that forces Saint-Étienne to play him for a certain minimum number of minutes. That way they have to make sure at the very least that he keeps in shape and he has a chance to develop in actual games. With S-É on the verge of yet another relegation, they cannot afford to play a guy they're not guiding, so he's going to receive training.
Well yeah, but what if the coach doesn't agree with the staff who sing that agreement? I highly doubt a coach who is battling relegation gives a crap if a player is "contractually" required to play a certain number of minutes. Also, I don't know how that would play out with the rest of the players who are battling for minutes. UGH
On the Israeli website, One.co.il, they are saying that Maccabi Tel Aviv has been trying to sign him but he has another offer from Hull City and has zero interest in coming to Israel. Don't blame him. Israeli football is usually seen as just below Greek football.
Full story on Konrad de la Fuente moving to #hcafc. Strikes me as a relatively risk-free but potentially exciting signing. At the age of 21, has played at the top level.https://t.co/dZCEUUzSHm— Baz Cooper (@bazdjcooper) January 31, 2023 🚨🐅 Hull City have signed Konrad de La Fuente (21) on loan with an option-to-buy, reports @yagosabuncuoglu. pic.twitter.com/gIZkgoajse— EuroFoot (@eurofootcom) January 31, 2023

"When you grow up in Yorkshire, the variation of language from town to town can differ. Never mind city to city. So, we asked the people from East Yorkshire city what Hull words and sayings they remember from growing up. And, they did not disappoint. Yorkshire words and phrases can overlap, but some of these are 100% Hull and we know the locals would argue otherwise. Check out the fantastic use of language that has been displayed over the years.
