What about the thread title Zombie from Club de Cuervos?! Brought up Erickson's story and that was the first thing my wife thought of.
I almost want to throw in a Hamlet reference, almost. Alas, 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the knowledge that this thread will never have a proper title.
I could be wrong, but he played almost 90 minutes both games. This man is going to have a full load this year.
I was hoping he'd just be a week or two given he walked off on Saturday. Indeed, f that fking donkey pos Carroll. Fred will fill his spot in the first XI now but they really need to get an extra midfield body in quick or our season will quickly crumble with all the games we have coming up. Also, I hate to be a naysayer in that Ten Hag needed to be more pragmatic with Cas in the Palace game and playing a full-strength front 6 against Reading.
I still can’t get over how this challenge wasn’t a red card,(red card) you said? It wasn’t even a yellow. 🤮the referee is watching some clown guy trying to end someone’s career and he’s doing f**ck all, absolutely disgusting, 😡😡😡😡 pic.twitter.com/H8PTGXMgUW— MidwestMancunian Red, (@Rasheedmufc) February 1, 2023
There was an update at the cup final - he was off crutches but still in protective boot. The boot was due off last week -so still a ways to go with a lot of rehab. Christian Eriksen issues injury update after Manchester United win Carabao Cup #mufc https://t.co/YExoHiaMet— Man United News (@ManUtdMEN) February 26, 2023
#MUFC midfielder Christian Eriksen is returning to team training today. Erik ten Hag: "Not (available) for tomorrow but he's returning on the pitch. He's returning into team training today, so we have to see how quick he can now make the progress"— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) April 4, 2023 Getting closer to a return...We need him back badly.
Anyone know why Eriksen not getting any minutes - like at all? Since the turn of the year he played 58' vs Spurs on 14th Jan, then was on the bench for 10 consecutive matches during which he made just one appearance for 37 minutes. I get that with Casemiro and Mainoo back from injury he was always likely to only get cameos, but he is not even getting those now. I get that EtH has recently gone to a more possession-less / counter-attacking style which doesn't really suit him. Why we have to see quite so much of McT with Eriksen sat on the bench ...
Talented but getting old and can't keep up. He is now a good reserve MD for a slower league. Italy might suit him better.
Off topic but where the hell is Mount? Did we ever hear what his injury actually is and why he’s been out so long?
Eriksen will have plenty of suitors, but its hard to picture him in the EPL anymore. Ten Hag said Mount should make his return after the international break. It's unclear how he will fit into the eleven, though.
Feels he should have had some more game time even if just cameos. I get he has mobility issues but permanently sitting on the bench and watching McT pick the ball up in the middle and constantly flub his passes to the forwards has gotta sting ....
You’re seeing McT pick up the ball in the middle? Weird. When I watch I see him actively run away from our players when they have the ball. I haven’t seen a guy look as afraid to get the ball since we had Smalling at CB.
McT is 6th in terms of minutes for outfield players this season. Ranked 13th for touches. Says it all really. Ericksen(571) has 81 more passes in 580 less minutes than McT(490).
We all know Scott's limitations, but he looks to me to be part and parcel to ten Hag's system until the summer. Eriksen and Mount could displace him, but Scott brings a presence in the box we've been lacking at times. I see Eriksen mainly as a reliever at this stage. Camoes like topbloke says.
