Any of you season ticket holders that don’t have 5 family members that would like to share your Apple MLS season pass hit me up in DM. Because of my work schedule I doubt I’ll get to many games this year but I do hope to support the Quakes ii team depending on the scheduling. They probably won’t have many of those games on TV.

I think I counted 13 English play-by-play announcers total (original announcement and this one). I believe that will be just enough to have announcers at every stadium for every game.

At least opening weekend they have 13 games on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. So 13 should cover it with one group doing both Saturday and Sunday.

And considering that they’ll reportedly be kept in regions, it’s probably safe to say that Danielle Slaton will remain covering the West Coast games. :)

That makes sense but I wonder if she’ll announce Quakes games? That would be good for us but stink for the visiting team’s fans.

Unless she’s paired with the visiting team’s announcer, of course. ;)

    Danielle and Cobi at Stanford?
    Danielle and Max at Levi's?

That could be some interesting banter.

I don’t wanna listen to Cobi Jones almost as much as I don’t wanna listen to Taylor Twellman.

Danielle will be a lot better at her job because she won't have to be a homer. Apple isn't going to allow any home-favoritism to their commentary teams. Probably why shit ass Glenn Davis, Anthony Passerelli and Chris Dangerfield weren't hired.

Passerelli probably won't quit his day job either, F*ck him he sucks anwyays.

    Love Twellman... Cobi is alright.

FWIW John Schrader turned down a job from Apple to be a commentator. He mentioned so on his Social Media.

Somebody is tracking all the announcers on wikipedia:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_Major_League_Soccer_broadcasters

It is indeed 13 play-by-play and 14 color commentary. Danielle, Cobi, Max, Twellman are all listed as 'color commentary' so we might not see any of them paired with each other but I don't see why they need to be so rigid about things.

For Spanish language they have 5 of each - so obviously Spanish will have some remote broadcasting. But I'm sure some of the English commentators can also speak Spanish so I would guess they could do multiple games in a weekend as well.

Looks like the likely pbp guys in our region are
    Max Bretos: LAFC
    Mark Rogondino: Galaxy
    Keith Costigan: Seattle
    Jake Zivin: Portland

Max isn't my favorite but I'm good with everyone else - especially if Danielle is the cc.

It’ll also be interesting to see whether the MLS Season Pass service will only begin as the season starts on February 25th or whether the service will begin on February 1st with preseason studio shows and other produced pieces all leading up to Opening Day.

    I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. :)

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!
