Hey everybody, lifelong Roma fan and finally getting the chance to see them play at the Olimpico. I have never been to Italy, so not sure how to get tickets outside Roma's website. I will be there for the game vs Venezia on May 15th, and it says "Flash Sale Sold Out" under that game - Does anybody have tips on how to get good tickets for a game?

    Much appreciated in advance!

The regular sale hasn't started yet. Just buy them on the official website once it has. Shouldn't be hard to get good tickets for that game.

Hey! First off, congrats! It's an amazing and unforgettable experience. Super simple, just get them through the website. I went to Roma - Inter this year and the tickets went on sale a few weeks before the game so you should be seeing them go on sale soon. Just keep checking so you get your choice of seat selection. Youll definitely get tickets, however certain sections sell out quickly depending on where you want to sit. I've been to quite a few games so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

My first Roma game, a glorious 3-0 victory over the mighty Ancona in Sep 2003. I'd say it feels like yesterday but that would be bull....feels like about 19yrs ago.

Thank you all for your inputs! I’m beyond excited. The only time I was able to watch Roma play was in Dallas a few years ago against Real Madrid (Totti’s goal gave us a 1-0 win). I check the website every morning lol, but just wanted to see if there was any tips I should know leading up to the game? Thanks again!

Hello. I thought I would reply to this since I am in a similar position - long time supporter, first time going to a match. I have a trip book from Canada to Rome in May and hoping to get tickets to the Inter match. I was looking at the Juventus tickets that went on sale today out of curiosity and there were many seats that said "reduced visibility". Is there anywhere I should avoid? I will be with my wife, so Curva Sud is out, even if I could manage to get tickets :)

In 2019, 2 days before the game with Bologna I went to the AS Roma Store on Via Del Corso just south of Piazza Del Popolo and purchased tickets. I don’t know if that’s a good way to do it for every match, but it worked for me.

Echoing what everyone said - buy online a couple weeks in advance. This early on the dates aren't finalized. They say May 15 but it could be moved depending on Coppa Italia, European matches etc.

I went to a Roma vs Juve game in 2014, and Totti's retirement match vs Genoa in 2017. Tickets were relatively available for the 2014 match and I had to buy from a reseller for the Totti 2017 retirement match.

Get to the stadium early to enjoy the atmosphere. Best way to get there is taking the tram from Flaminio. When selecting seats, I personally prefer the Distinti Sud section - it's right next to Curva Sud so you can be right next to the craziness without being actually in it. Great vantage point to take pictures of the tifos and ultras as well.

Best place to stay as a Roma fan (IMO) is the neighborhood of San Giovanni, a very pro Roma sector of the city. Plenty of airbnbs there and you'll be within walking distance of the Giant Totti mural (https://maps.app.goo.gl/hFyndkNwKG1K89qb7) and Restaurant Core Di Roma (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g187791-d2456148-Reviews-Core_de_Roma-Rome_Lazio.html). San Giovanni is also walking distance to the Coloseo (recommend booking a night tour in advance, less crowded than the day and you wont have to wait in a line).

Also recommend checking out the neighborhood of Trastevere for something more lively. It's hard to get to by train but worth it for the nightlife, people watching, outdoor cafes, and overall good vibes.

I will be staying more central, close to the Trevi Fountain. How is the transit after the match? I would imagine it will be hard to get on a bus?

When I went, I walked from the Pantheon to Milvio Bridge to the stadium. About 3 miles. I figured I would catch the tram back to Piazza Del Popolo after the game. There’s a station across the river from the stadium. When I got to the station it was awful. A LOT of people. The tram that was departing was crammed with people. So, I walked back. I have no idea about busses.

There are busses and trams. They are crowded but I never had a problem getting back to the centre even when it was an evening game (unlike in some other Italian cities).

Do yourself a solid and rent a vespa or electric bike. Park it outside the Olimpico and you'll avoid the mad crowds on the trams and buses, trust me.

Thanks for the advice! Riding a vespa sounds like fun, but not for my wife. I will give the Mancini tram a try and if too crowded, I guess we will walk.

I usually tram there and walk back. Trams are more crowded postmatch rather than prematch

I always just hopped in a taxi. But yeah there are cheaper ways of course if money is tight.

Walked it once, about an hour each way from where I was staying centrally.

When I went last year we just took a taxi and they dropped us off in the front of the stadium and then we had them pick us up right after. It was very smooth.

Any advice where to sit? It looks like a choice between 40-50 rows up in the top center of Tribuna Tevere or about 15-20 rows up in lower north in the Tribuna Tevere. I like the top center to see the full field, but I also like being closer to the field for better views of the players. Hard choice.

Best atmosphere after the Curva Sud is Distinti Sud.

Don’t go anywhere else, even if the view is shite from Distinti Sud, the atmosphere next to the Curva is priceless.

PS. don’t expect your sits to be respected don’t get angry about it, it doesn’t matter, e Roma.

edit: You can jump over the barrier from Distinti Sud if you want to get into the Curva Sud, but maybe not with your wife unless she is as crazy as you

Not sure how to get tickets in Curva or Distini Sud? The Udinese tickets went on sale just yesterday and there is nothing. And trying to get tickets to Inter will be worse.
What about the Laterale Sud near the top - row 50?

Curva Sud is almost 100% sold out to Season ticket holders so don’t even entertain la Curva, Distinti Sud sells out fast, because for the kids, jumping the barrier from it is the only way to get into a sold out Curva Sud, sometimes the police will even help them jump :whistling:

Anyway, you can get Distinti Sud, just have to get them quick, I just checked Roma-Sampdoria and they are available (see attached), you just have to be ready to buy as soon as the tickets are released, we went to Totti’s last game in Distinti Sud this way, so I am sure you can buy them for a regular season game if you plan it properly.

Laterale Sud on the other side of the Curva Sud is your next best option, even Tevere is OK – just do not do Monte Mario – best views in the stadium, stalest atmosphere.

PS. As for your seat number (someone else will probably be sitting in it, it’s Italy :D) it doesn’t matter you take someone else’s then they take someone else’s – the view is shitty from Laterale or Distinti, you go for the atmosphere, better view is Tevere - in Distinti, we usually stay in our seats for the first 15-30 minutes (or until the first big action), then we stand all game at the bottom of the stands with the shite view but with the crazy kids – second half is even better down there as you’re right by the opponent’s corner flag… and when a goal is scored… it’s a beautiful madness.

Enjoy the trip, e sempre, sempre, sempre, Forza Roma.

Hah cheers mate, not really back, just had a to help out a fellow Romanista on his first trip to Rome so broke my code of silence.

I’m still bitter about the way the club treated Totti, even if Pallotta maiale is long gone, might post on that in the future, don’t know… Haven’t been to the Olímpico since Totti’s last game… nonetheless I read all of your conversations every week, you all haven’t changed… that’s good … stay true.

e sempre, sempre, sempre, Forza Roma.
