Totaly stupid decision. I think it was because the Liverpool defender was a little touching the ball. But without or with the touch. Mitomas pass would reach the goal scorer and thats a clear assist.
Even it is deflected, its stupid cause normaly in Europe, a goal/assist is not given when the deflection cleary changes the normal direction of the ball and that un natural deflection change is the reason for the goal/assist. But in case of Mitoma and Hatate both things would happen without or with the deflection. Means Hatate, have scored and Mitoma have the asisst. In Germany both would count but in countrys like England where they thought to be the motherland of football they decide of course some special rules. Same in the Champions League.
Depressing..... Super sub, left wing back, ah, what could have been if a certain Japanese coach knew that the guy is good enough to start and to play in an offensive position...
The entire team has to play less negative football first. Impossible to compare Japan NT with Brighton.
He scored finding the gap between 4 men, 5 if you count the gk. Probably best japanese goal of this season.
Mitoma receives a lot of praise from the French media, he is just fantastic this player! The future of Japanese soccer seems very promising!
I know it's not about a Japanese player, but as a good example of picking a move, I'd like to point out Josip Juranović. Rejected big names because he knew he'd be a bench warmer. Went to Union Berlin- a team that's fighting tooth and nail for the Bundesliga title, but their captain is old and can't play every game. If they nab the title, Josip will have 2 league winner medals in one season. He's also got another Japanese player to spend time with (Haraguchi), so that's nice. Mitoma should be looking at which teams lose their left wingers in the summer and have a priority list for his agent to act on. Or just stay- the team are looking to be on the ascendancy.
Your 100% right but I think Mitoma is twice the player Minamino is. I certainly felt Minamino was never capable of being a regular at Liverpool before even arriving but feel Mitoma could have a impact anywhere but picking the correct team is vital for his future
Minamino and Mitoma are 2 totaly different players. Impossible to compare. By the way Minamino is even at Monaco a monster of effectivity. 10 league games, 5 Scorer.
