Lin was the sound of XRT, and thus, of my sh!tbox VW Fox back in college. The worst thing anyone could say about him was that he was a degenerate cubs fan, but I forgive him for that indiscretion. RIP Lin.
I found out yesterday that Terry Hall vocalist of The Specials passed away last December 19. I was busy with holiday season family stuff so it slipped by me. I guess elsewhere in big soccer music forums it was noted. Anyway, RIP Terry.
I would have no idea who he is, except when I was in Chicago in the '90s, some meatheads would put him on in the gym I went to. Thankfully, a bunch of Nation of Islam guys started working out there at the same time, and Mancow was never heard from again. I mean, those NoI guys might think I'm the White Devil and all that, but I had no probem letting that slide if it meant that I didn't have to listen to that asshat's schtick when I was under a barbell.
That guy could be me. I had the same haircut (mom's) and our eyes are the same. We didn't have a tv so I never saw the show, but my aunt was always trying to bring mom over to watch it, saying that is what I was going to grow up looking like. Now, according to this Variety article, Kerwin became something of a teen idol -- https://variety.com/2023/tv/obituaries-people-news/lance-kerwin-james-at-15-1235502420/ -- which certainly never happened to me... I had no idea he was a teen throb. All the girls in my school were more Andy Gibb, Leif Garrett, Shaun Cassidy in middle school.
That was a standard early-mid 70s White kid look. There really wasn't a difference in the way different sexes cut their hair back then- this could have been James at 15 or Toni Tennille...
Yeah, but that haircut groomed Kristy McNicol into the homosexual lifestyle. That’s probably what happened to Jodie Foster, too.
Big influence on 80s-90s acts including Dean Wareham plus others you may know like R.E.M. in Georgia, U2 in Dublin, Wilco in Chicago, Pere Ubu in Cleveland, Pavement in California and Sonic Youth on the Lower East Side. RIP Tom Verlainehttps://t.co/tylGz4dZRf #ahfowIt has been confirmed that influential guitarist and songwriter Tom Verlaine has died at the age of 73. That’s over a minute long. I hardly ever watch network TV, but nowadays the openings are a lot shorter, right?
That's noted domestic abuser, Hitler fan, and father of The Golden Brett to you, sir... Oh yeah, he was a great player, too. RIP.
Holy shit that’s funny. Is Elton John a sex symbol? How Cher and Linda Blair are different? The right way to kiss a Bay City Roller? (Howard Cosell had a variety show for about 3 weeks, and I swear the BCRs were on it.) Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler The answer to all 3 questions is, (in) every way.
