Disagree. He has delivered several great crosses which the defenders have failed to meet their heads with. Rudiger for example, missed a point blank free header vs Atletico.
Of course, it never has been and never will be just about who's crossing, it's about who's there to take advantage of the crosses and make them count, i'm sure Toni wasn't "overrated" when he was putting crosses into the box for the likes of Sergio, Ronaldo and Gareth, it's never as simplistic as it's made out to be, IMO, no matter all the talk about picking out players in the box with crosses, the player in the box actually always still has to do some kind of action to make that cross into at least a chance at most a goal, Other than Benz we don't have those kinds of players right now, or at least no one is showing it as yet, certainly not comparable with the level of three i mentioned, who were prolific especially Ronaldo and Sergio, they made headed goals from practically nothing at times.

The lack of athleticism is taking us closer to making this a historical point than currently one though. Kroos seems to have this cycle where he plays extremely well for a season or so then he plays for an extended period looking very disinterested. The game has evolved to very athletic runners in midfield and he isn't adapting.
He doesn’t need to run like a headless chicken to achieve what he can by making one pin point defence splitting pass.
Like the no 10, the deep lying play maker is nearly obsolete in the modern game. You need some dynamism to your game to be successful as a midfielder. Yes, Kroos is great at the long pass - but that’s about it. He offers olé defense and makes zero impact in the attacking 1/3.
I don't know what modern game you are watching, i guess you'd prefer we be like liverpool before Thiago, just mindless running in the middle of the park with no quality on the ball, that worked fine for them until they came up against........... Toni and Luka, everytime.
That's exactly what Bayern said to justify letting him go and look how that worked out. Kroos is the kind of player you appreciate the most when you don't have him.
Well bottom line as i remember it we won, however to the original point, Jorginho, Gundogan, Veratti, from the teams you seem to believe in, some real dynamic speedsters, and in no way successful apparently.......meh, quality on the ball is needed as well, not just athletic dynamic running. Toni may be slowing down but always was and is a quality player, forget this rubbish about just being good at long balls, once upon a time it was "he's just good at 3ft sideways passing". It seems you just judge players overall on what they did the last game they played.
This sarcasm was so thin I half-thought you were serious lol. Kroos is a legend. However the same way Cristiano is past his due date physically so is Kroos. Takes nothing away from who he was and what he accomplished. Every player gets old even though some love to mock others for it but defend their favorites in the same light.
Our midfields future is already at the club. The midfield of Kroos, Case, Luka was torched a lot of times during the CL run last season. Don’t get me wrong I’ve been a big fan of Kroos ever since his Bayern days let alone what he’s done for us, but let’s not get it twisted Tchouameni has kept the midfield ticking this season, and that’s not disrespect to Kroos or Luka but those legs are gone when the chips are down. Kroos had a CL final similar to Isco in 2018.
Difference is Cristiano was incredibly almost inhumanly consistent. So when he wasn’t crushing, we all knew the end was coming Kroos has had this on and off seasons thing with us for a while now so it’s hard to know when he is done or if it’s just another one of those down years
Nevermind that often the bad performances look like he couldn't be bothered. The third goal for Barca for example, he wasn't the least bothered to cover the back post. Kroos has to play further up the pitch, and he needs runners around him to cover the spaces he's just not going to get to.
Flo should just tell Bellingham if he comes, we won’t offer an extension to Kroos or Modric. He can pick the one he wants to keep. We shouldn’t be jeopardizing his signing to appease the egos of club legends.
Wow. Let’s treat those who have done much for us like shit to appease those that have never given us anything. just wow
Rewarding past performance for a player who close to retirement is the fastest way to becoming irrelevant in sports.
You shouldn’t cater to players based on last glory and minutes have to be earned but you also don’t dispose of them like garbage to recruit a kid that for all we know could be a flop you sign who you need to sign and you make it clear no one is above the club and minutes have to be earned and maintained whether you are an exciting prospect or a veteran club legend
tell that to Kroos and Modric who throw their toys out of the pram when they get subbed are not starting every game. As long as they’re around they will be in the starting preferred 11 for the big matches.
sure. Bullshit. https://www.football-espana.net/202...-when-the-going-got-tough-for-real-madrid/amp https://www.managingmadrid.com/plat...ames-in-a-row-rather-than-when-i-skip-matches
