@Goodsport has been reporting games this way forever. I was just thinking how comforting I find his obsessive-compulsiveness.
The final score is: 0 - 0 GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! GO USA!!! -G P.S. = Please don't post results of other soccer games and other sports' games in this thread until at least 24 hours after they've ended.
Gah! Why not give the last game's MOTM some minutes? Do we really need to see 70 more minutes of Paul Arriola once again run around fast and blow chances in the final 3rd? Seems like these games should be used to find out what we got, not to reaffirm what we already know we have. Arriola is not going to suddently become a different player and doesn't have some ceiling to meet at this point. He's been at his ceiling for 5 years. No one stood out too much though I like Hoppe. Pretty good speed and good feet for a big guy. Ferreira was busting his butt and made a few nice passes but blew his couple of opportunities. Paxton Aaronson was getting hacked like mad in the midfield but fought hard and for the most part held his own. Acosta with some more atrocious dead ball service but finally had a few good ones near the end. Sonora again non-impactful though in limited minutes.
I forgot to watch the game, so I go into this thread to catch up, and I realize almost no one else watched either. Damn. Also, I tried to watch the game on demand on HBOMax, and it’s not there. I’m not sure what HBO and USSoccer are doing together, but it feels like they are shooting themselves in the foot.
Or why does he say the score is 0-0 a week before the game has started? There is no "score" until the game actually begins. If the game was cancelled it would not be recorded as a 0-0 tie.
You were lucky. It was not only a scoreless game, it was a boring scoreless game. Very few plays that looked threatening. A total of maybe two? three? shots on goal. I'm sure whatever you were doing was more entertaining. We watched on Peacock in Spanish. I was just as glad not to be able to understand the announcers most of the time.
There was not much flow to the game, just lots of aggressive challenges in midfield, and very few chances for either side. Colombia seemed very “undangerous” but so did the US for the most part. If those were their fringe guys I guess we can be pleased that our fringe guys are not really worse than theirs. Anyway I want my $5 monthly Peacock subscription back. I got it mostly to watch that game.
I waste enough time already watching soccer (and posting on this forum). I don't need to grow my addiction portfolio. Thanks though!
I think I watched on TNT (which is part of most people's TV packages I think).. I would assume they must have some on demand stuff. It's not worth watching though. Mostly missed plays and lost opportunities.
I was responding to Don's comment on watching the Malaysian League. I did watch the US/Serbia game. Recorded on my trusty DVR so I could watch at my convenience and easily FF past stoppages in play, halftime, etc.
EPL attracts many of the best players, from around the world. so in a very real sense, yes, if you watch the EPL, you're watching globally.
