Also gets a yellow for a push in a scuffle between the two sides.

He came in for 10 minutes+ stoppage time. Enough time to score a golazo and would have had the game-tying assist too, but his teammates whiffed, after he worked his defender off the dribble, then fizzed it in front of the keeper.

Another positive appearance, in spite of his manager foolishly giving him so little time. Kovac left the subs for very late, in spite of needing goals. If that's Marsch, we're ridiculing him for slow adjustments, and rightfully so.

    Here's the goal-azo:

Kaminski w/ another low rating. It's time for Paredes to start.

That's a great goal. I confess if Messi hits that, I think "golazo!". If Parades hits that, I think "holy h*** was he lucky to somehow get that through the entire rosters of both teams and into the goal without hitting anyone" :D

He's got some real flair to his game.

Glad he got in and glad he got the goal! He was playing the 8/10 type of role for awhile.

Coach was pissed at him towards the end of the match after he got overly aggressive on the sideline after one of his teammates was getting into it with a WB player. Hopefully this kind of thing doesn’t offset the goal he got in his coach’s mind.

American insecurity. There's a gap there & he hits it cleanly thru it. Regardless if it's Messi or Paredes, that's the right play. You just hope it gets thru and nobody reacts. Keep doing it 50* and you're going to get 20 shots blocked, 10 saved, and 20 goals.

How bout he get pissed at himself he didn't make adjustments, including earlier subs, to turn the game around.

Then his in-between game adjustment is to start or play the guys longer who provided a spark, as should happen with any functional manager.

Can't get overly mad at a rider standing up for his mate. KP and the big Dutchmen (who I think he had a WC bet w/) are bosom buddies.

that play and possible assist in minute 82 was outstanding - and his goal was certainly well taken. Great 15 mins for him.

Here's the "real assist" (creating a new stat) for Paredes. Slick fake and good ball. But the whiff:

We will hear how much he's improving, but, honestly, nothing that he hasn't shown at DC. Just being ignored for too long.

Since the goal videos have been wiped off Twitter, here's another try:

Friggin fantastic native BL goal from Paredes which should have tied the game up given the whiff on his ball thru the box. Man o man... that was a great cameo. WRT the yellow card. Coach might not have liked it but I expect his teammates respect a youngster of his size mixing it up for his mate. Kid is electric and needs to be playing more.

Interesting. Similar in terms of positional flexibility but I think they’re fairly different in many ways.

That's a really good strike. He couldn't have hit the ball better. Great technique, great goal. Come on, Kevin, keep it up!

Can’t do much better than this in a 10 minute cameo. Wolfsburg should have tied 2-2 based on his work if his assist has been finished.

Niko did not like Paredes mixing it up with the Werder player there at the end. He ran over specifically to push Paredes out of the way and screamed at him.

Fabian was a lot bigger physically. Paredes has a Demarcus Beasley build.

I view paredes also as having more trickiness on the ball than Fabian did where as Fabian was more direct fewer step overs etc.

I feel like Johnson was more two footed as well.

That said there are of course similarities.
