It sounds to me like he's doing the Winston Bogarde routine with Chelsea. Still show up for training just so you get your monthly paycheque, but at the same time dont bother showing up for actual matches
Except he is not training with the team. He is training individually just like when he first came into the club earlier this year.
Yes, training aside from the team, but he's still showing up for training. I could be wrong but I believe the team still has to pay his wages if he cannot play due to physical injury, or mental health issues, so long as he shows up for training
Here's what Bogarde did, he honored his contract with Chelsea by still showing up for training. From 2000 to 2004 he only ended up playing 12 games in total, although he was injured for periods of time, but not injured for the entire 4 years. Total paycheque collected over 4 years was £10 million, which works out to £17m in today's market. Link: https://www.footballtransfers.com/e...nston-bogarde-cost-chelsea-wages-transfer-fee

I wasn’t ready to be footballer, says ex-Real Madrid star Drenthe Kostas Lianos 10:43, 16 Sep 2022 Updated: 11:27, 16 Sep 2022 FORMER Real Madrid ace Royston Drenthe has opened up about how his party days put a premature end to his turbulent football career. Drenthe, 35, burst onto the scene after being named player of the tournament at the 2007 Under-21 Euros, where the Netherlands beat England to win the competition. 6 Royston Drenthe joined Real Madrid in 2007Credit: Reuters 6 He's admitted he didn't focus on football enoughCredit: Instagram 6 He says he thought of himself as a GodCredit: Instagram 6 He also says he spent too much time partyingCredit: Instagram The winger then sealed a "dream" move from Feyenoord to Real that same year for £12million and experienced some initial success alongside the likes of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. But the former Netherlands international fell down the pecking order later on and was sent out on loan to Hercules as well as Everton before his departure in 2012. The 35-year-old, who now plays for Racing Merida, admitted that his lifestyle got in the way of success at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Dutchman added that he wasn't ready to meet Real's high demands as a professional as he thought he was "God" and loved to party. Drenthe told AS: "I was twenty years old and at the peak of my career. "It was my dream to walk into the Real Madrid dressing room, I will never forget that. "But you have a life as a footballer and a life as a human being. You can mix that up to a point, but I didn't see the need to change my lifestyle right away. "Now I am aware that I didn't do the right thing, that I made mistakes. "I wasn't ready to be a pro. I thought I was God, loved women and to party too much and you can't combine that with football "I learn something new every time, but what happened, happened." As well as playing for Everton, he also had spells with Reading and Sheffield Wednesday during his storied career. He made a total of 65 appearances for Real Madrid. 6 Drenthe enjoyed initial success with Karim Benzema and Cristiano RonaldoCredit: Getty - Contributor 6 Royston Drenthe was sent out on loan to Everton before his Real Madrid exitCredit: Getty
So, who was the greatest underachiever: Freddy Adu or Royston Drenthe? Still probably Adu considering his overhyped press from the USA ignoramuses and Nike contract. Drenthe at least played some matches for Real Madrid.
Nobody can live up to Adu's massive failure. I was at his first professional match at DC United and I should have kept the ticket stub.
Jurrien Timber??? Maybe he peaked last year when he was partnered by Martinez who made everyone look better.
Vanenburg sent Mo a picture of Ronaldo, and said this is what you look like https://www.ad.nl/nederlands-voetba...dikke-ronaldo-zo-zie-jij-er-ook-uit~a70a66e9/
You can't do anything but cry to see and read what's going on with Mo. The death of his father, who obviously was his anchor who kept him grounded, he hasnot been able to process and come to terms with.
So if you're wondering why Dele Alli's career has gone south, rumor is he's a bit like Drenthe and that he prefers the nightclubs, women and fast cars over football. Mourinho at 1:58 seems to allude to that
I don't care what happens to this shitbag's career. He's one of the Totally Hotshit players who seriously injured Kevin de Bruijne a few years ago.
Henk or Joey??? WTF are PSV doing? Ruud must be really angry at this point seeing his season go down the drain. How much longer does Sangare stay around?
Joey, but I doubt it will happen. Oh, @Orange14 I noticed the posts on Joey are in the wrong thread. Could you move them to the watchlist midfielders thread?
If Nunez keeps this up he'll become a strong contender for the 2023 award https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMYLqa4EW/
Mo has been arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, and is currently in jail https://www.telegraaf.nl/nieuws/194...rd-op-verdenking-van-mishandeling-ex-vriendin
Mo has arrived in Turin for training. I hope he sticks with the plan this time https://www.voetbalzone.nl/doc.asp?uid=415262 https://www.instagram.com/reel/Co7J2Zjgolr/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading
Apparently it wasnt that serious. He was out of jail within 2 days and (so far) it doesnt look like any charges will be filed

Do we have a candidate? As reported, AC Milan replaced Sergiño Dest with Malick Thiaw in their Champions League squad list, making Dest ineligible to take part in knockout matches.Reports indicate Dest’s role in the locker room has shifted to being a barber, with Giroud being the first happy customer. pic.twitter.com/G9PIONwWsh— Yenks Abroad (@YenksAbroad) May 10, 2023 16010
