Arteta's a persuasive guy. I hope this means he got to talking to Moi (in his native tongue no less), and sold him on the project.
Problem is Boehly has a bigger checkbook. Caicedo, like Mudryk, would probably take the move to either us or Chelsea.
If it's really just bruised ribs, those hurt a lot but usually heal quickly --- at least when it happened to me, fwiw.
Monaco have apparently offered 8mil for Sambi, based on his game tonight, his lack of effort pressing, and them him storming off the pitch and not waving to the away fans, I would be ok if we cut and run. Massive disappointment.
He’s still young and has potential, and because he can’t make it here doesn’t mean he’s low value. Hopefully that’s just an initial low-ball offer and we could still get 12-15M+ for him this window to fund toward an immediate replacement.
Still has what, 3 years on his deal? I am open to loaning him out, he badly needs it, but thats just to boost his value. His work ethic is looking poor in this team where you have guys like Nketiah, Odegaard and Jesus who chase everything and never give up.
Sooo... Poking round looking at potential DM/CM alternatives. Starting thinking about the recent trend of City hitting up Argentines. Found a guy at Boca Jrs named Alan Varela. Read tons of positive stuff about him online. Only negative I saw was that Barca seems to have right of first refusal if/when Boca opts to sell him. Evidently he has also been linked to Newcastle a few weeks ago...
Is that why Thomas came off today? Injury not rotation? Edit: nevermind, I’ve now caught up reading MD thread and see this is true.
this is what makes everything so stupid. The existence of 1 or 2 irrational buyers in the European market causes huge inflation on the margins.
Then Chelsea will just go higher Just trust the player/ players I am more than happy with Trossard over Mudryk
If they are willing to go up to 90m that is what they should be doing. Not this predictable 65m nonsense that is going to get rejected, and then you go back on deadline day in a panic and offer 80+10, but they turn it down because its too late. 60m is what Caicedo is worth, maybe a bit less than that. Mudryk was worth the 40+20 opening offer, but the club has shown its willing to pay over the odds to land a target, they are just bad at it. We shouldn't even have gone back at 65m. This is why I call Edu a dummy. What is the point? It is not like Brighton responded by coming down a bit. All you are doing is hardening their resolve by going back with offers you know they wont' take. Edu should have moved on to another target today, or gone back to Brighton at full ask.
