The u20 won and finally gets 3 points to keep their hope alive. Brazil currently ties with Colombia.

Enzo is just imperious. The way he is going he will be the best midfielder in the world in a year or so and for who knows how long. Can we make Messi younger again. What fun these two would have playing together.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility for Messi to carry on and play in the 2026 world cup, I think it will be more of a question of whether he wants to continue playing for another 4 years. At this world cup you had Thiago Silva Brazil at the age of 38, Pepe for Portugal at 39, Modric at 37, and they were all regular starters for their teams. Messi would probably have to pick and choose which internationals he played in, perhaps miss the 2024 Copa, but the big question is, after having won everything with the NT, would he want to carry on? Personally I think just his presence in the squad at 2026, even if he didn't play, would be a huge boost for the players and staff. Anyway, that's a long way off, time to carry on enjoying Qatar 2022 :)

I’m also interested seeing how Paz will develop. It seems that the kid has it. Yes, it is very early but, at just 18, he is quite good. It’s hard not to get excited about the midfielders that we will have at our disposal in the upcoming years.

If he does play in 2026, he’d be the only player to play at six World Cup’s or even be on a team for six mundials. I remember Buffon was going to be the first, since he was on the bench in France 98 but Italia failed to qualify for 2018.

Well, looks like the Copa America in the US is officially happening, which is , at least in terms of futbol. We should not be doing any favor is for the CONCACAF sides. What do our teams get out of it? Nothing. This only benefits the teams invited to this tournament.

South America wouldn't have to do this if they ran their business properly of course

I just feels that its better to have that WC 2022 victory images as a closure to his WC career. Although there's always a possibility to lift the trophy again, given that Argentina has tradition of reaching the final.

Both him & ADM has won all 5 silverwares that could possibly won at international level.

Part of me feels , he should continue till next WC. But another part of me thinks his last memory with NT should be walking of with WC .

It is extremely difficult for any team to make a back to back win in WC like torunaments.

I don't want to see messi at the next world cup. We need to move on and attempt to go all in with new players. I would love to see him one last time at the Copa America, but even Maradona at 35 was done. Messi won't be the same Messi. The team needs to evolve without him. That means learning to interlink without his ability and vision.

I'm a big Messi fan, I watched every single game he was part of until 2016, but even I know when it's time to advance the national team.

True, but remember 99% of football fans has assumed Messi will retire without senior international trophy....

The thing with Messi is that he has 10 goals contribution in WC 2022 and 18 goals in calendar year for Argentina . That doesnt looks like a player who's nearing retirement.

I think he should retire on top but considering he doesn't want to come out of games he probably should've left sooner it doesn't seem like he will give up too easily. Anyway he already said he wants to continue playing as a defending champion so I guess the question is whether friendlies are enough or he wants another go at Copa America at least.

For sure he will play next Copa 100%.

You got basketball, tennis, NFL, boxers all keeping high levels close to 40. It is very possible with discipline and he is fully dedicated. I think a limited role as a sub in the last 20 minutes next wc is very realistic it just depends on his desire

Garnacho not starting for United in the FA Cup match. Strange, you’d think he’d get starting time.

Bit disappointing to say the least. Licha was rested. I hope it's not to do with his contract negotiations. They are still ongoing. Expect he'll be gutted not to be in Indonesia for the Mundial as will RH who must have been looking forward to seeing the pibes.

Another forward that should be given a look is Retegol. He is picking up from where he left off.

For me, I prefer MacA at DM or the role De Paul plays. MacA did a really great job replacing Lo Celso during the WC and his movement, link up play and ball carrying were excellent. However, as of this moment, I don't see him making that killer pass that would help usurp Lo Celso in that position, which is why I think either the DM position or the role De Paul plays suits him better imo.

PSG forum in burning hate for Messi today after draw amplified by how butthurt the frenchies are about losing the wc

He really should leave this loser club their low iq players are completely incapable of playing basic passes
