If you pay peanuts you get monkeys, he's got to be a lot better than Washington and Eaves you would have thought. It's gone quiet knowing our luck he'll just be using us to get a better deal elsewhere.
The club website posts some funny stuff btw, one of the coaches trying to get Richard Wood to wear coloured boots.. Matt Taylor's reaction was quite funny. 👟| "You can't be wearing them as staff!"First team coach Jon Hill clearly has some work to do convincing the lads about his brand new white boots - particularly Richard Wood, who has spent 37 years wearing black footwear! 🤣#rufc | #ForeverTogetherForeverProud pic.twitter.com/0SmvPOIbk6— Rotherham United (@RotherhamUnited) January 24, 2023
5 in so far, 3 loans & 1 free agent until the end of the season and an actual contracted player. A couple of our better players are expected to leave (Barlaser/Ogbene) before the window closes so that leaves us with a lot to do in the summer whatever happens.
Morrison who we signed as a free agent until the end of the season earlier this month after being release from Cardiff following an injury is guess what... injured until the end of the season! One of our best midfielders Dan Barlaser has signed for Middlesbrough. We've signed 2 more players on loan: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64477094 So we've signed about 5 loan players, they look quite impressive but come July we'll have to start all over again.
A few mid-week results have gone in our favour too, if we can beat Blackpool on Saturday (who played half of last nights game with 10 men) the table will look a lot better for us.
The hard way it is then, I should have known better than to think we would beat them and take a huge stride towards safety.
When did the Madejski become the Select Car Leasing Stadium? Whatever. Awful ground. Nowhere near anything. Call it whatever anyone will give you a quid to call it, I guess. Still ... it just sounds so stupid.
Yeah it's a bit cringe, then again so is Aesseal New York Stadium. Warnock has gone to Huddersfield, watch them go flying up the table...
5 of the next 7 games we're at home, if we can't keep our heads above water at the end of those we've got no chance.
We've been playing well and picking up points against teams top of the table but when it comes to teams lower down the league we look goal shy and rarely look like winning. We aren't going to stay up if we don't start winning more games and that period after the World Cup has cost us badly also. It's easy to say but I think if we had brought in Warnock like Huddersfield have we'd be comfortably higher up the table on 40pts or so.
It's a shame we can't play top of the table teams every week, we were unlucky not to be 1-0 up against Coventry as well the ref ruled out a goal rather harshly. Good performance last night by all accounts but injuries are mounting up, Wood who's seemingly been put out to pasture might even make a return. We're away at Swansea next Monday, looks winnable but they're the type of games we don't show up in frustratingly.
What do you think to this: https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1628149720056053761 Sunderland fans seem adament it was not a foul on the keeper and the referee was bent even though we had two penalty claims turned down as well.
