Just like it was before and during the STC era. Part of it, of course, is the natural evolution and growth of the Crew's FO, but there were several people 5+ years ago that now have several people doing their job. Someone like Scott DeBolt almost never got a chance to sit down and breathe during a game day. Now, that role might be 3-4 or more people. If Two Buttons and QuesoChin can think one person can do a job vs 3-4 people doing it a lot more thoroughly and having a higher level of employee satisfaction, it'll be the one person be underpaid and grumpy. (Not saying anyone at the Crew FO was grumpy, but there's certain jobs that really should be a team of people.)
claudio-reyna-resigns-austin-fc-sporting-director-amid-usmnt-controversy Strange quote:"We're grateful for Claudio's contributions to both our Club and our community," said Austin FC majority owner and chief executive officer, Anthony Precourt in a statement. "Claudio has been committed to the cause of building a Club that inspires Austin, and he will remain in a position to contribute to our organization including licking queso off my body"
I think for berhalters first two seasons he pretty much ran the entire soccer side operation. Then there were like 5 people to run the business side besides some ticket reps
“I am grateful that Anthony and the organization have given me the opportunity to scale back my role and responsibilities while continuing to contribute to the success of a club that I love,” Yes, because if there's one thing an ambitious 49 year old team executive is hoping for in life it's to " scale back" his "role and responsibilities" That's awfully close to wanting to spend more time with his family. TwoButtons has never been very good at hiring PR flacks who can write convincing lies.
Two buttons and his boss man stuffed queso face. Ignoring the elephant in the room and looking even more tone-deaf than ever !

not sure saying that columbus is the new and improved austin is quite the burn new crew pres of biz ops kristin bernert thinks it is
Just goes to show how many people work for the club that have zero idea or appreciation about what it is or it’s history. Including its history from *checks calendar* just 2017.
This was a terrible comment and was the worst thing in that meeting. The press also asked her why they keep advertising garage beer as local, and she said Cincy is close enough. While she has done good things with the increase in merch and ticket sales (see Ticketmaster for the opener), dumb stuff like this keeps popping up. The increased media presence from the local news (ABC 6) and improved reporters (Bailey) will put pressure on the FO. But it happened to the Browns this year, and the FO retreated and did not answer any hard questions.
Meanwhile, 10TVs Wall to Wall Sports (aka Dom Tiberi) can't wait for the start of OSU's spring practice.
The constant back and forth between our own @stanger and Dom about Crew coverage slights on Twitter was reason #238 that I deactivated my account and deleted the app. I'm happy to have that time sink out of my life.
Bernert is not the first person to express that opinion. Austin isn't really Austin any more. All the things that made it cool have been bulldozed and the town is engulfed in a sea of California shitheads. All the authentic Tex/Mex, dive bars and singer-songwriters are history. She's right about that. Nashville took over the party town cachet five or six years ago. Austin hasn't noticed and probably never will - they're too pleased with themselves to notice much - but when you take your bridesmaids for a weekend of wild partying, Nashville is now where you go. Live music, dive bars, great food. But they're in the process of jumping the shark. As a great philosopher once noted, nobody goes there any more, it's too crowded. Or it's getting that way. Some drunken assholes is a good party; 5000 drunken assholes is time to leave. It's not terribly far away from being Key West, a town living on its reputation and stinking of desperation. Give it ten years. Columbus is certainly not there. Yet. But Bernert is essentially saying the quiet part out loud. It's what out betters among the cognescenti are saying and hoping for. Will it happen? I sure have my doubts. But it's the vision that Columbus is trying to sell.
I'm either doing Twitter completely right or totally wrong. I see the main feed and it seems just to be a hodgepodge of random tweets. I wouldn't see any back and forth unless it got pointed out to me.
People I know from undergrad just moved back to Central Ohio from Austin. They were Austin FC, pitchside (Scott's Field Seats), STM. So Bill may have a point, especially if you add in the Intel and Honda developments. I just hope the Austin to Columbus transfers don't wear their Austin FC jerseys to a Crew game.
Austin is good for street racers and drunken 17 year olds. Last weekend, the shorthanded Austin PD couldn't control the street races doing donuts in intersections. The cops got driven back by fireworks fired at them. Meanwhile a gang of kids took over some rich guy's mansion. His neighbors called him and he rushed home but the kids got away. It turns out drywall doesn't resist samurai swords very well.
I'm no expert, in fact, I'm no longer even a user. I certainly wouldn't want to instruct you on how to make your experience worse.
What the H3ll? I mean I don't like Austin broccoli fans, but this is asinine. 7 arrests so far ... I mean only thousands racing... and hundreds mansion partying. Absolute failure on multiple levels.
Sounds like a summer night in Cleveland. Except it’s a hundred ATVs and dirt bikes zooming through your front yard.
