I don't think the gesture will get any traction getting Klein fired or moved within the org but it's a great gesture nevertheless. I hope they organize the boycott past the not-attending to walking outside the Rose Bowl and the Digz with banners and placards and the damned plane overhead asking for Klein's head or AEG OUT!!! on them so the media can get nice optics on game days. Especially if they come back with we hear you and we will continue to strive to be a leading MLS team and remember you have five championships and we will get you more and blah-blah-blah - Thank you for making us aware and please accept a token from us and blah-blah-blah. It's gonna happen.

What if the opposite happened for the Rose Bowl game where instead of boycotting, the SGs collaborated on a huge #kleinout tifo instead and all wore a #kleinout tee. Wonder if it'd even get shown on the broadcast.

    wouldn’t change a thing.

it is difficult to get a man to understand something when his income depends on his not understanding it.

I partially agree. The people who make the decisions to keep or fire Klein are Dan and Phil. Neither of them have a personal financial motivation in keeping him. Phil's motivation these days appears more driven by right-wing politics than anything else.

Anything helps at this point. It might not get the results we want but it may just light a fire under their butts to get Galaxy lifted to a more competitive level if only to distract the fans. I'll take that.

I want to know how long Klein's new contract is for? Is this another 5 year deal?
Klein has to go, if not now, when? Klein OUT

    Me Too!!!

also i think the idea of the SG's getting together for a giant anti klein tifo, would only benefit AEG and klein.

Its all about optics, they would prefer a packed house with a lot noise for the inaugural AppleTV game that is being played at a historic venue as opposed to an empty historic venue with a dead crowd.

having the game seem listless would anger the apple gods a lot more than having a packed house protesting the game. they can cut out the protest by manipulating camera angles, and muffle the noise and your protest means nothing and they still get your money, its a win win for them

Even if this number includes supporters group members and season ticket holders who bought seats and will not attend (a number that might only be as many as 5,000 given the drop in the season ticket holder base and likely would be much fewer), that's still a ton of butts in the seats potentially. I'm sure some unrelated media will cover any boycott outside the stadium, but my guess is it would be more effective inside the stadium for this game since AppleTV wouldn't be able to avoid the signs/tifos. The absence of supporters group chants etc is less relevant in a game with this many people.

Let's see how much of the crowd will be goats fans.

It's going to be a long haul. Boycott will be much more evident at home. They are selling/giving tickets to AYSO etc.

Even if you didn’t want to boycott after this off-season I wouldn’t want to go to this game. It’s a derby so anything is possible, but going to watch LAFC do a victory lap in our former home sounds like a demoralizing way to start what looks to be yet another unpleasant season.

Am I right that the FO have given no response to their meeting with the SGs?

You are right. An initial meeting occurred where it became apparent that the FO stands with Klein. Klein did not show up. They sent Vanney instead.

A second meeting was scheduled for a few days later but the FO cancelled it and there’s been radio silence then.

If you feel angry about this, I’ll let you all know they told the SGs they weren’t happy about the KleinOut hashtag, so please do not spam them with it. Don’t spam all of their or AEGs posts with it..

I'm curious about this part, if I'm reading this correctly AEG is not happy with the KleinOut hashtag and do not want the SG's to spam anything AEG related with KleinOut.

if thats the case will the FO deal out repercussions to the SG's if they do spam the KleinOut hashtag? and why should someone who is not part of the SG's abide by this and stop hashtagging KlienOut after they know the hashtag KleinOut sticks in their craw.

if what I'm understanding is correct, this FO really doesn't give one shit about its fans, it just cares about the financial gain and optics.

I would not blame one person here, if they jumped ship to another club that respects their fans.

heck, I no longer consider LAFC "goats" because their FO has gotten rid of the stench that permeated from the previous ownership and I give them kudos for that

however, their supporters embraced the goat stench and still reek of it at every game.

I know some who have jumped ship. Not just now but starting a few years back. The casual casual, semi-casual fan doesn't want to know about screwed up FOs or boycotts. That for the died in wool fans.

The one guy I know that got season ticks for the Goats still disliked the goat fans. He sits across the way. He invites people to go watch a match or two. I gaze at that club longingly but only because it makes me remember when Galaxy were like that. Strong, competitive to a fault and winning stuff. We were riding a winning stud back then it was a great time. smile-teeth.gif

I'm not in the know about any of this but my gut is that the SGs shouldn't decline a meeting request. I feel like they should meet anywhere anytime to express their feelings. The case against Klein is rock solid so the more chances you get to make it the better.

I thought they did. This was supposed to be the followup meeting. I see their point though, Klein sent Vanney to do his dirty work because he’s too much of a coward to meet them personally. So absent any change what point is there going to meet with Vanney again?

Oh maybe I misunderstood. I agree, meeting with vanney is insulting to all (including vanney)
