My place for since the 4th game of 2018 is now gone. We were paying $40 as a regular to park at that auto body shop at the corner of Half & Q. Right behind the UHaul place. I know they charged everyone else $50. We’ll be there early for the opener as we try and find a new regular spot.
What's the word on Fountas' alleged (not-so) light racism? All forgiven? He might not be mother Teresa, but he's a good player. Jeebuz help me for falling into this trap, but I'm excited about this season. With Fountas, Benteke up front, a beefed-up midfield, and finally a new defender or two for teh whole season, the DC Leviens might have finally understood that they were garbage everywhere and needed better players across the board. Now fix the stadium, hire a real GM, and I'm on my way to becoming a fan again. If the team is sold, then skip all aforementioned steps to regaining one's dignity - I'll dive right in and proudly wear a DC United shirt around Mt Pleasant and Columbia Heights again.
I park for free in a couple of locations that are about a 15-20 minute walk to the stadium. Sometimes I end up needing to pay $10-$15 if the free spots are full. But traffic is minimal both in and out.
NEW: I’ve seen DC United’s new kit. It’s actually… kind of great?On @TheAthleticSCCR, details on #DCU’s long-awaited cherry blossom kit, which is finally a reality. https://t.co/GEDhcIizye— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) January 4, 2023 I hope he's right.
I gave up this forum, but dropped by for the good news on Klich. I've been a Leeds fan for a long time and he is great. He played very well in the match against West Ham today. He'll have more workrate and creative passing than DC United has seen in a long time. He's also a great shooter from outside the box. Plays defense and is a great leader. Old school #10 skill set with a box to box mentality. Phil Hay has been a Leeds reporter for over a decade and knows the team better than anyone. Mateusz Klich poised to depart Leeds United for DC United. Papers still to be officially finalised but given a big farewell at Elland Road tonight:https://t.co/D4LXK5j82F— Phil Hay (@PhilHay_) January 4, 2023
Hope you’re right. I haven’t been that impressed this season (now that I watch a ton of Leeds matches).
Holy F that's not what I wanna hear, especially seeing his shithousing skills, I was hoping he'd be be a gem and pan out for us rather than play like a 32 yo.
Crazy thought...why not wait and see how he plays. He is probably the most fit player on the team as he was in mid-season form.
Lots of praise for Julian Gressel's play for the USMNT last night, especially for his pinpoint crossing, which is what I remember most about his tenure here. I couldn't believe the negative comments when he left us - "deck chair" indeed!
and ... no one ever specified if any player was a 2- or 3-legged deck chair vs a more functionally solid 4-legged deck chair either
All very humorous responses, but I believe that we lost a very good player in Julian Gressel (and Paul Arriola, too).
Jullan Gressel wasnt a good fit tactically. There's a big difference between a RB and a RWB in their offensive and defensively. In Losada used wingbacks, looks like Rooney wants a back 4. I also believe as good as Gressel was as a RWB, he wasnt nearly as effective in midfield as a right sided midfield player or a winger.
He was – and remains – an upper-tier MLS player. I still don't get why they traded him. Did they really need the Garberbucks so much they couldn't make roster moves without it?
