I think he did. If he had gone to United he wouldve been the guaranteed #9 starter and joined a title contending team. Instead he joined a sinking ship where he now has to fight for his spot
Gakpo played as centre forward today versus Wolves FA cup match. Unimpressive performance. Sub out at 66'. He needs time to adapt although not sure how long it will take.
Don't know how true this is but media are reporting that Danjuma wants out of Villareal with both Ajax and PSV interested. Ajax would take him on loan to the end of the season. His salary is pretty high and I'm not sure that either Dutch club could afford him.
I saw this too. Would love for him to return. Looks like Memphis is close to Atletico Madrid, although he’s also been close to Juventus before, and Inter Milan, and Manchester United.
Kluivert seems to be firing up at Valencia. A run away beauty in the copa del rey. 4 goals and 2 assists in 15 games. All competitions.
Unfortunately adapting is what makes and breaks a new player in epl. And for Gakpo it's a big step. As a winger when you are making those back and lateral passes, then something is wrong and that's what's the highlight of him at moment. Cut from left in congested areas in the middle and then passing back or laterally. He is unable go around and outside on the flanks. Sometimes he does but when he runs out of option, turns and either passes back or laterally. This is was forecasted for him and where he needs to improve. If he doesnt, he won't survive long there.
I think he’s likely suited to play as a 10. Whether or not his happens only time will tell but Klopp has mentioned his versatility to play various positions. The pressure will be on Gakpo no doubt.
I hope Everton stay up. There are 7 teams in the relegation battle and only separated by 2 points. Wont be easy
Liverpool doesn’t look good today, manage a tie with Chelsea. Gakpo had one chance and shot over the bar, so did Salah and others. Weghorst played ok for MU, did what his role was supposed to do, pressing and link up with others. Wait to see Memphis debut.
Vincent Janssen scored twice today… his fifth goal in as many matches since the WC break. He is now leading all goal-scorers in the Belgium Jupiler Pro league with 14 goals. Hmm… he’s the only Oranje attacker banging goals at the moment The rests are getting acclimated in their new clubs, getting back from injuries, or just simply poor. Separately, looks like Stengs have found a new life playing in central midfield. He’s been a regular there, and clock 90 minutes week in and week out (after previously struggled getting minutes playing as a winger). He can thank Van Bommel and his ingenuity
Danjuma's loan deal is now in limbo.... apparently Danjuma is seeking assurance that David Moyes will not be appointed to replace Lampard because he refused Danjuma at West Ham
Tottenham Spurs are hijacking Danjuma's loan move to Everton.... whoa, interesting development Apart from Van der Vaart, Dutch players didn't seem to have much success at Spurs. Bergwijn and Janssen were the latest casualties. Just saying
Looks like this is about to be completed, tomorrow Danjuma will be presented as Spurs player… I guess it’s better to play for Conte than for no-manager.
Weghorst scored his 1st goal yesterday https://www.ad.nl/buitenlands-voetb...-wereldklasse-maar-geef-hem-de-kans~a58df2a6/
His form is better than Memphis at the moment. If there is NT game next week I will start Weghorst over Memphis in 4-3-3.
