Was a little bummed they didn't trumpet the Bruen decision recognizing our 2nd Amendment rights - you know, Constitutionally enumerated rights. Inalienable rights. /s
So here's the thing: The Nordecke Board doesn't just sit around dreaming up left-leaning issues to support by hanging a banner. Issues and causes are brought to us by members. For example: "Hey I'd like to create a 'Protect Trans Kids' banner, would that be ok?" Or: "Hey I'd like to make a Josh Williams banner, is that cool?" Or, even: "I've got a banner idea parodying the Chiquita Banana label, can I hang that?" And as long as those banners fit inside the rules laid out by MLS and The Crew - and the artwork is good - we'll say yes. But, shockingly, no one has ever come to us asking if they can make a banner in support of Second Amendment rights. (For the record: I don't know what the stance on 2A is as far as those rules go, but we'd be happy to find out if the need ever arose.) So this narrative that the Nordecke Board is a pinko-lefty body is a dogwhistle and it's personally offensive. BTW - Board nominations are currently open and elections are coming up in a couple weeks. Be the change you want to see.
I am unaware of anyone suggesting that the Nordwcke board is "pinky lefty" whatever that means. And to be blunt, a dog whistle is a thing because only the dog can hear it. So if you think you hear it.,.well, connect the dots yourself. My point, which you chose to mutilate beyond all human recognition, was that the Nordecke board is either stupid or knowingly disingenuous. Unless they are severely brain damaged - and I can't entirely dismiss the possibility - they, you, me and everyone else recognizes that hanging an Antifa flag is basic trolling and has zero, zip, nada to do with anything aside from pissing some people off.
Why are you offended by the perception the board is left wing? What political banners have they rejected? The ones hanging up are only for liberal causes. And you proposal doesn't make much sense. I'm not seeking to put up right wing banners to balance the left wing ones. I'm suggesting they refrain from politics if they claim to want to unify the fans of the Crew.
I've been mulling making a nice, artistic "Abortion stops a beating heart" banner. It's not appropriate either but it would make the point. None of that shit has any business there.
Aren't most people offended when incorrect assumptions are made about them? None that have been submitted have been rejected. Now, there was the whole debacle about the Iron Front Flag a few years ago, but that got worked out.
Eh, I'm not going to get onto the specifics--that's why we have a politics forum. I'll just note that from posts made on this board by many different members there seems to be a great deal of diversity of opinion. I'd hesitate to say "most" about anything in that area. Except for Prec**t s*cks. Heck some people even like the new logo.
How is this shocking? It's obvious to everyone where the powerful individuals in the Nordecke (either in terms of leadership positions or their sway on social media) lean politically, and it's obvious how much of an obnoxious fit they throw when someone doesn't cater to their specific wants and desires (see: the last few pages). It's quite obvious why nobody would want to put up with that. With that said, I'm not even arguing that right leaning political stuff should be displayed. I don't want any political stuff to be displayed. There's absolutely no reason for it. We are there to watch a soccer game. The statehouse is about a mile away, so take your political banners over there.
I'll just say it one more time, and then bow out of this discussion because I don't think it's adding any value to the discourse: Board nominations are currently open and senior leadership applications are being accepted on Nordecke.com.
From Antifa Wiki. The very first Sentence... Antifa is a left-wing anti-fascist and anti-racist political movement in the United States. Emphasis added. They describe themselves as a left-wing political movement. To gloss over the political divisiveness of the banner seems disingenuous at best.
Antifa are straight up Communists. They’re not afraid to say it. I have to ask how many Communists are in the Nordecke leadership at the moment?
Nobody hates leftist politics more than the various factions that make up the left hate leftist politics. So the animosity towards the left by the Christo-fascists, terrorist sympathizers, election deniers and cultists of Crew fandom just makes me laugh at this point. It's pleading for a safe space. How the supposed strong and mighty have fallen.
Hold on, one last thing: Are you for f*cking real right now? Please tell me you forgot the sarcasm tag.
