Antonis Nikopolidis, Fernando Hierro, Ronaldo, Paolo Maldini, Zinedine Zidane, Davor Šuker; Pavel Nedved, Michel Salgado, Fabio Cannavaro, Gennaro Gattuso, Luís Figo : what an unbelievable selection for a Charity Match!!!
They signed him for quire a fee from Lille. He was good but their asking price was elite player level when he was promising.
Napoli also included a bunch of youth players in the deal and claimed that they were somehow worth 20 million. They probably only actually paid half of Lille’s asking price, the rest is creative accounting on both sides.
Inter has done some fishy deals too. Casadei to Chelsea was probably part of the Lukaku deal. Then there were many loans with inflated options to buy and counter options (e.g. Vanheusden) and so on. Every Italian club has made use of this it's just that Juve did it on a much bigger scale and their directors were stupid enough to leave evidence.
The deal for Osimhen was embarrassing even at the time because it was obvious fraud. You could argue Karnezis maybe was worth his fee. But the deal was inflated by 15 million with those 3 youth players. It was mutually beneficial for both Lille and Napoli. No Napoli fan will argue this. If punishment comes I think it will come in the form of fines. But still Napoli were acquitted in the initial investigation. Unless they can present new evidence, nothing will change. For Juve, the prisma investigation gave the prosecutor new evidence and this is why they find themselves in the hole they are in. In November, Gazzetta ran a story that revealed Paratici was almost like a defacto DS of Juve's satellite clubs Sassuolo, Atalanta, Genoa, Samp etc. Fixing prices but also making sure that certain players couldn't transfer to certain teams (clubs deemed their rivals.) I can't wait to see the evidence presented because you know it's going to be good.
Juventus is publically traded, right? So they have been doing securities fraud, no? Unfortunately so are Roma. So expect a similar punishment because they don't have near enough clout
There’s also a whole other investigation in regards to them cooking the books with salaries. I imagine there’s going to be a lot fines for other teams, but I’ll be surprised if it’s to the level of punishment Juve are/will be getting. Tutti squalificati. Per almeno un mese. In questo campionato. Forse già a breve.
None, but the Spinazzola-Luca Pellegrini transfer is the only one that could be questioned. But I don’t know how because Spinazzola was a good player and Luca Pellegrini was one of the most promising left backs in Italy at the time.
Upthread there is a link to social media that says Roma's Pellegrini and cash for Spina is one under investigation. Being Roma and nothing good ever happening expect that to fall more harshly on this team somehow
Bilan have not recovered from Roma shaking them. They are playing like a relegation team. They might end up 6th.
Poor Bilan, where is their cheerleader & top earner Zlatan to cheer them on from the sidelines? I think he needs to start helping Pioli with the team talks again
