Going to Qatar 2022: tickets, accommodations, etc. (non-politics)

Yeah - ah fair enough. Never made my way out there this whole time

 

First time I see quite a few French, my guess they got tickets through the federation

 

I was extremely lucky to snag one cat3 in the drop back then.
Now waiting for the flight in Dubai, the French already warming up in the terminal

Metro to the stadium. It's by far the best of all alternatives, though there can be some slow moments with the crowd between exiting metro station and getting to the first checkpoint that you need to either weave through or patiently slowly walk.

Metro back if you are very quick (eg. Your team gets thrashed and you want to leave), but since it's the final you'll probably take your time, then want a little bit of celebration with everyone, and then I would check out Lusail Boulevard visuals, walk to the big floating whale, and then 5 minutes from the whale are the buses to take you back to West Bay (check fan guide for a map, there's an online PDF version too) . Just keep in mind the buses only run until 90 minutes after full time.

 

Website says they’re extended to later for Opening Game and Final although isn’t specific. Will also metro there and bus back.

I’ll be getting there early today, likelihood that there will be some without tickets trying to get in like we saw with Morocco games.

 

Resale is the last hope. I don't think they will "fix" fcfs, M64 is behaving like any other match that already happened.

 

Sweet!! Maybe look out for the airshow in the sky above Lusail Boulevard at 15:15 if you're around there at that time (for Qatar National Day).

Do we think FIFA held a batch of tickets to sell a few hours before kickoff? Doubt it. Will there be a large number of returns before kickoff? touts outside Qatar may get desperate and sell some back. But it won’t be a large batch.

There was a lot of pages - I skipped to the first cat 2 page and grabbed one...somehow it worked.

 

I'm going to assume there's a FCFS drop coming at some point in the next 2 hrs given they restored that page.

 

Is anyone able to get on the resale and buy 2 tickets for final today? I am on the cruise ship and the wifi here does not allow me to go on the resale. Says our URL is not allowed.

 

I had a cat1 703 section carted… couldn’t do it. Too much

 

Also if the FCFS opens if someone could get 2 tickets (cat 2/3) - again URL won’t let me connect to the site. So stupid. Sat in a mall for 2 hours hoping for a drop last night which didn’t happen. I am hoping to take my dad to his first World Cup final! Any help would be appreciated!

Best advice I can give you is sign up for a VPN. Mullvad is like $5 a month and works fine on the portal (just play around and select a country until it does, I think they have some blocked).

 

Sometimes i can't believe what am i reading in this thread.

 

Or you could just use mobile data, instead of wifi!
