As this tourney is almost wrapped up, I will have to say that I am glad that I dont have to spend 80% of the day on resale or FCFS-websites anymore...at the same time, I am going to miss it (shit, whats wrong with me ) and I am certainly looking forward to reading lots of stuff from all of you in the preparation for 2026. But first, hey EURO24...
Can't wait for EURO24... Normal accommodation, cheap flights, easy tickets... just to relax before 2026 and here we go again with the hustle
I should try to convince an Argentina fan with a 100 level ticket that if they want to see Argentina win the Cup with Maradona guiding him through, they’ll swap seats with my fat ass
Looking forward to taking the trains for matches! One of my best friends lives in Munich so it’ll be a rocking good time. I also hope that Copa America becomes a huge deal in North America as well. The dream would be an expanded Copa America that happens the year before or after the Euros, so we have yet another tournament to go to that features South American powerhouses, and up and coming North American teams.
If it happens, it would be the same Summer than the Euros. That has been the plan starting 2024. (But then, CONMEBOL changes plans as we change underwear...)
That certainly seems the most likely, but to really capitalize on non- World Cup years, I’d love the remaining 3 years to be Copa America, Euros, and then a combined Africa/Asia tournament.
Do they allow laptops inside the stadium? What are my options if I reach the stadium with my laptop bag?
I’ve seen plenty of laptops in the stadiums. If they reject you. Go to another gate; and another gate. Speak to a supervisor if it gets out of hand.
If you can't bring your laptop into the stadium, you have storage office for prohibited items next to the stadium. Just look around stadium and you will find it or ask some stadium staff.
What’s the best transportation to use to get to Lusail? Just came in for the final so haven’t been any of the stadium. I’ll be going from the west Bay Area. Thanks in advance!
After leaving the Janoub clusters on Dec 7, I stopped doing the bus hubs at Lusail and did metro instead, even on return trip. Metro after the match is chaotic but it moves quickly and I don’t have to walk as far. Still my preferred option for both to and from the match.
Very true. I am a 700er, and XX row at that! I wonder if YY and ZZ will be real rows. But not complaining. I am going in
Did anyone bring in a regular SLR camera into the stadium? I would love to bring my Nikon and a normal lens (no larger than your palm). Everything I read says that cameras "for profesional use" are prohibited (I am not a profesional) but nothing says that the regular fan can bring one. I have not seen anyone with SLR cameras (the only cameras I have seen are go-pro style or regular pocket hand held, other than the ones in phones).
I took my DSLR to m46 at Education City. My zoom lens is 10 cm long when retracted, but some good 20 cm when protracted. The lady in charge of the x-ray asked me to extend it but I told her the length was fixed and she was okay with that. However right after the x-ray a security guard noticed my camera and asked me again to extend the lens. I wasn't able to fool him but after a brief chat with a superior who was standing next to him, he begrudgingly allowed me to move on, so I got lucky that time That said, lenses under 10 cm are fair play according to the stadium rules, so you shouldn't run into any problems.
The normal rule if I remember correctly, you can bring it as long lens is no more than 7cm. That informaton is posted some where on Fifa website and around the stadium.
+1 on this. The first game I managed to get my 70-200 in because they were unfamiliar, but after that I've been taking my 24-70 and playing dumb and pretending it's fixed at 24. That being said it's nowhere near enough zoom even when you're quite close, wish I actually had a 105 or 135 fixed. Mostly end up using my s21 ultra because the 10x zoom on that camera is pretty solid for a phone!
