On Sunday, I left the France vs. Poland match a little early in the 90th minute to beat the crowd, took the stadium to stadium bus and got to Al Bayt in plenty of time for the start of England vs. Senegal.

 

I'm going to do stadium to stadium bus and just hope Portugal vs Morocco doesn't go to penalties, otherwise will just miss first part of England France.

 

Just to share the solution to the question I posted two days ago. I had two cat 3 tickets at 119 and one cat 2 ticket for 511 yesterday at education city. I was with my 2yo and wife and we wanted to stay together in 119 using two seats.

The ticket service (side by side with the gate) was helpful: they canceled my child original cat 2 511 and gave us a new print ticket without a seat but at the same gate of the lower ones.

Then we could cry together close to penalty kicks

 

If there is extra time and PK's between Morocco and Portugal and it will be a very long trip to Al Bayt!

 

I have an extra Cat 3 guest ticket for Match 61 (Argentina vs. Croatia). It's Block 411 Row H (not bad for Lusail). Looking to do an even trade for the other SF (Match 62).

 

Have there been any decent drops on resale in the last few days? Was hoping for a drop today hasnt happened yet.

 

Plenty of tix appearing for England/France and Argentina/Croatia today in Resale. Not much if you're looking for Morocco.

 

Are CAT 4 & Obstructed view tickets still dropping? (Resale or FCFS)

 

The best way out of Al Thumama is over the footbridge. An uber or taxi from there should get you to Al Bayt on time. We left on the final whistle of France v Poland and made England v Senegal with a bit to spare.

Ideally get your taxi driver to go into a car park and drop you there as the official dropoff is very slow.

The walk to the buses etc makes it very difficult to go via the official route.

Also where exactly do the stadium buses at West Bay / Souq Waqif depart from ?

 

The opening time is a drawback for the Fan fest, atleast for me as I mostly did 2 games a day; just deviated to one for the final German game. Therefore I could not visit that store/fanfest at all.

As for world cup sovenirs, I thought the store at City Center Mall was adequate (but as I wasn't over at the fan fest store, I have no basis for comparison), but lacked some sizes/designs I was after.
I got to know that City Center store is run by Al Meera. I tried ordering directly from Al Meera website, but they declined my foreign CC.
Instead I went to the Al Meera store at Hyatt Plaza. It's a huge supermarket, with a decent sized FIFA section and do well on availability, as it's out of the way for visting fans.
I figured this during 2006 world cup, wherein the FIFA stores at the venues/fan fest were low on popular items, whilst the Real supermarket and Karstadt Sport stores used to have even enough & in some cases, also different sovenirs. I did the same whilst driving around Poland during Euro 2012.

Just suggesting it as an alternative, if fanfest timings don't work for you and/or if you are rooming close to the Hyatt Plaza.

At West bay, go down to the metro station and once you are have passed two escalators, you will see a diversion with signs; stay right for the bus & left for metro. Speak with any volunteer and they will point you in the right direction.It's a bit of a walk, but buses are definitiely the way to go, as you have a guaranteed seat and can get some rest, unlike the crowded metro.

It's at one end of the Souq and as i was only there once, I suggest you get directions from the volunteers. It's not a long walk, as we walked over from the other side of Souq and it wasn't too bad.

 

Best Big Soccer validated way of getting to/out of Al Bayt? Not going to the first game, only the second.

Bus hub is very close. 10-15 mins walk tops.

 

Avoid the metro & Lusail altogether; instead take a bus from/to West Bay, Souq, Fan fest and other pickup/dropoff points

 

Probably too late but Uber to the footbridge - Tutis Qatar a good point on the far side.

Otherwise metro/shuttle bus and the long walk.
