It will take a GOAT preformance in ET for Argentina to overcome this. Maybe they have a player who can carry them.

    Paused the dvr. Not watching.
    If Argentina win, I'll watch.
    If not, I won't.
Gone through enough of this with Spain.

An abominable semifinal between Croatia and the Netherlands has been avoided.

Holy moly was that nerve-wracking or what! Argentina showed some serious mental toughness. Croatia also a super mentally tough team. That should be an insanely intense semi!

Tite only lose just 4 times as Brazil coach. But ih boy, twice in WC quarter final, one in Copa final and one vs Cameroon this WC.

I think Argentina will win the WC now.

I don't think the Argentinian defense can handle the speed of mbappe or dembele so hopefully they get knocked out by England or portugal/morocco

I'd like to see a wider view of this.
Messi isn't the type to deliberately aim any antagonism towards his opponents. He knows there's still work to do.
I'm guessing his 'gesture' was towards the hinchadas, wanting them to sing louder.

(The holding of his shirt at the Bernabeu was directed towards the Madridistas, not the players.)

    Dembele? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Come on now...

Mbappe,ok. He is a problem. But France are too Mbappe dependent imo. I don't see France winning this thing because it requires Mbappe having 4 epic games in a row.

I am not convinced we would have won the WC, but I did not expect a loss today. Bloody football ....

I think I saw Messi at the end of the game going to have a not so friendly word with LVG. What was that all about ? The whole thing with Di Maria ?

I think out of the 2 teams we did more to go through, but not enough to really deserve it if you know what I mean. I was not happy with the performance today at all. It sucks because I also wanted Brazil x Arg SF. The ET performance after we scored was pathetic indeed.

You hear of referees trying to bring a wild game under control, but can't recall a ref trying to turn a mild game into a riot until tonight.

17 yellow cards? But it wasn't that sort of game. This wasn't Portugal v Holland 2006. Plus, he didn't give a yellow for Parades kicking the ball as hard as he can into the Dutch bench or the blatant hand ball on Messi.

Worst referee ever!! When does he hit the retirement age?

I didn't realize there were 17 YCs as I was in a bar watching it. Wow.

But yeah, I agree with the hand ball and kicking the ball in the Dutch bench. Should have been cautioned.

Right after Parades kicking the ball into the Dutch dugout, van Dijk ran a good 10 yards full speed and deliberately ran into and knocked down Parades. No card for that either, nor for any of the Dutch subs who ran onto the pitch to confront Parades.

He turns 46 in March so that should be it as far as being a FIFA/UEFA ref.
No idea if he'd still be eligible to ref in La Liga.
