Carl Biboum is a Virginia-born striker with the U17s of Kaiserslautern. Academy teammate is USYNT winger Montrell Culbreath. Their first team is pushing for promotion to the Bundesliga led by Terrence Boyd. My favorite BigSoccer posts are the ones that use Twitter posts to tell us about stuff that was on BigSoccer months ago. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/carl-biboum-at-kaiserslautern.2119579/ (In this case, not a brag on my part. Just a reminder: YA is still the best place to learn about new Americans overseas, which is not to say there isn't great stuff that turns up on Twitter, and elsewhere, first. Visit! Contribute!)
True, I was only following up on the @ChuckMe92 tweet. He uses big soccer, as do I. I could've checked how long Biboum's had a thread, but at the same time, I am still banned (I don't know why) in that section, so I'd have to log out to do so, and I suspected Biboum was a newly discovered guy in the last week or two, given his tweet. My mistake. I'm not trying to take away your credit for doing the work finding out about him.
I'm just being a smartass and you should ignore me. But I can't help but wonder what one has to do to get banned from YA! They let all kind of weirdos post there.
They also apparently ban you if you call out people for lying about Nick Taitague's stats, so I'd advise against that.
Well, I can't speak to that, but probably everybody who posted in the Akale thread should be permanently banned, including me.
Very nice goal scored recently by Jack Mize ('08) of BVB U-15's. pic.twitter.com/VGfmx6zy6q— USMNTProspects (@ProspectsUsmnt) December 11, 2022

I was able to confirm that Benji Ashtar, an '05 at Aalborg, has U.S. citizenship. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/benji-ashtar-at-aalborg-denmark.2116146/
Somehow I just missed Biboum when it was first posted, so your update was the first time I'd heard of him.

It really is all good! I'm just trying to sell more people on YA. It only works, to the degree it works at all, because people contribute so much to identifying and following players. It takes a village and stuff.
North Carolina-born Manu Romero was one of five Real Madrid academy players of his age to participate up an age group in friendly action yesterday.Son of a former Uruguayan international, so like Ronaldo Jr, he's unlikely to ever play for the US. https://t.co/TVZe5YbMRg— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) December 15, 2022
The word from someone who tends to have a good pulse on what is going on in Spain is that Villarreal are very interested in him. I am sure there are others. https://t.co/gVSBJbiulP— Marcus Chairez (@chai_asc) December 17, 2022
'06. @Dave Marino-Nachison, I apologize in advance if he's already been discovered. New American abroad! Isaiah Thompson is a 16 year old 🇩🇴🇺🇸 dual-nat, currently playing for SV Darmstadt's U17. He has been a regular, with 11 appearances already on the season. He only joined this year from Stuttgarter Kickers.— micah w (@micahw1718) December 20, 2022
Not that I'm aware of, at least on BigSoccer. Since I'm not in touch with Micah I really have no idea how much verification he does on these; I can see Thompson is listed as Dominican-American on T'Markt. Darmstadt's site doesn't seem to add much. The DFB says he's German. All that might lead to something like born in Germany with Dominican and American parents, who knows...

I remember seeing someone point out the Cahill thing in YA a while back. It seems logical that a club like Everton would be correct about the nationality of the child of a player like Cahill but it wasn't obvious to me how this one would work, not that something needs to be obvious to me in order to be true. Anyone know how the kid would be American? There's no crystal clear reason Tim would've been in the U.S. in 2005 and it seems like his wife is Australian. Presumably there's more to the story.
