Acuna had some poor touches and passes early on. Of course I have to say he had a great game because of the penalty and that was a nice run later on.

He will be a big loss for the semis. With Tagliafico, we always seem to leak goals.

Does Tafliafico force us to play a 4-3-3? He can't be a wingback.

He literally assaulted Paredes. Anyway, it's good he stayed to have his penal saved.

btw I think our midfield collapsed after RDP left. Can't say it's all Paredes fault he was I am sure instructed to play deep but suddenly our midfield was empty. I blame it on Scaloni, making the same mistake as vs australia, subbing in 3 defenders with not much reinforcement in midfield where we stop the chances. You know subbing defenders wasn't done because they need to be a rhythm, it's not like a striker where you can come in fresh. You have to get used to the flow and opponent subbing out defender is ALWAYS risky.

I would have subbed out Acuna for an extra midfielder. Switched to 4-4-2 with Licha as leftback. Put some attacker and focused on scoring a 3rd instead of inviting dutch attack. By the way licha got beaten for the header, the cross went from taglafico side. Scaloni is playing scared asf somehow it has worked and has actually restricted/concealed this team true strength. People think dutch were anywhere close to being our equals when it was not the case at all.

Licha has played LB before. He would be my choice in a back four.

Offensively he wasn't at his best but defensively he was a bull running back all the time preventing the dutch from breathing.

IMO should be Licha as left* back in 442, he used to play there too at Ajax from what I heard.

I've said before that Scaloni respected our opponents too much to a degree that we're scared and playing like Pekerhead team after we have the lead.

In this particular game, you could see our defensive players were clearly intructed NOT to pass the halfway line at any cost. Everytime Cuti or Ota got plenty of space to run towards the midfield they'd immediately stop and doing the stupid sideways or backpasses. Only Licha dare to make a deep run into the midfield. Sometimes having only your wing back (Acuna and Molina) to press forwards aint enough. The center back needs to be closer to the midfield when we have the ball.

This is what gives our opponents a breather and confidence as the game progress cause they knows we wont attack them in number. Its also the reason why Messi didnt see more of the ball in dangerous area cause our 3 midfielders were always outnumbered.

My biggest worry is that he will continue with this plan because he's thinking that it got him into semifinal. Croatia is a team that WILL bite back if you gives them a breather.

For whatever reason, we looked even more mad in this game than everytime we face Brazil lol

But sometimes this kind of thing is what makes WC exciting:laugh:

isn't it crazy I remember the other thread where me and @SupaMario were talking about a freekick from other teams where they could have just passed instead of shooting

I swear I was thinking the same thing today I am like shit the left side all of holland players are empty. Cant believe they pulled that shit against us.

We invited them to score without even pressing them in midfield. You could see after the second goal, we have 2 players upfront, the rest was in our own half. It doesnt takes Netherlands to score in that situation. You ask opponents to keep banging the door, eventually its gonna break. We've conceided multiple goals in this WC that came from deflection. I feel bad for Dibu cause those werent his mistakes.

The thing that angers is that I don't see Scaloni changing. I feel like he is ready to go the end of the worlds with his Pezzela and taglafico.

Yea, imagine if he actually thinks its great strategy because it gets him to semifinal...:whistling:

Croatia is known for their comeback spirit and endless running, we'd be in world of trouble if we decided to sit back and absorbing attack after 1-2 goals lead. Croatia has beaten England, Brazil and Argentina in last 2 WC, so they definetely will have the confidence aswell.

If it weren’t for this forum I wouldn’t know how much people hate Argentina… everywhere I go, I meet people of all nationalities that love our team and adore Messi.

But here? Here it’s full of Argentina haters that cry, make excuses for our wins, and want nothing but to see us fail. It’s astonishing

Croatia will try to bring the game to PK shoot out. But Argentina have enough fire power to finish the game in 90 minutes.

Di Maria looks fit. He should start imo. Overload their flank again.

Dutch are one of the dirtiest sides in Europe tbh. You also had that idiot Van Gaal sniping at our players like Di Maria before the match. Classless. Also when Paredes blasted that ball at the Dutch bench you could see one of them taunting or clowning at our players on the pitch. They're no angels.

lol not just this forum it's been this way since I entered the internet. I remember arguing with mexican haters back in 2004 on a different forum!!! In real life we have rivalry with every damn country but we have certainly been more popular with Messi now.

It's curious how always all the pictures circulating on the internet are the ones that make us look bad.

Now everybody is saying we are bad winners because that photo of our players celebrating on their face. But they don't show you how Dumphries and other dutchs were taunting EVERY argie player before kicking a penalty.

We are no saints, we know that and we don't hide it. But these "oh european players are so classy and south americans sooo dirty" is a big pile of crap and even some fans in here buy it. Maddening.
