There's also report that Chelsea will have a meeting with CP soon while hoping to get him to extend his contract but aren't optimistic he will agree. I suspect the most likely scenario is Boehly will ask Potter to give CP a final run in the squad to make a final decision on him come january transfer window. We will probably see a 433 a lot. ---------------Havertz Pulisic------------------Sterling ---------Mount----kovacic ---‐----------Gorginho Ben Fontana. Silva. James
Seems I read somewhere that CFC were asking around 35 for him, so that number seems close enough they could reach a deal. Half doesn't seem all that terrible either when you consider how little time will be left on his contract end of season. I can see where he might want to stay and I see where it has helped his game. He doesn't seem to go into hero ball mode as often as he used to. He will get plenty of minutes at CFC if he can hold his form and stay healthy. His outings leading up to the World cup looked like some of his best footy in a very long time, and he took that form into the WC. If he can find his shooting boots and maintain this level he will force his way onto the pitch. I think his camp has a stronger hand in contract and wage negotiations than they did pre-WC. Both Sterling and Mount have been over used and Potter is going to have to do something different post world cup than what he was doing leading up to the break. Of Milan and Newcastle, I hope he stays at CFC, I think that is his best chance for another CL title.
I agree that CP has more leverage after the WC. Chelsea's results have sucked with Mount/Sterling/Havertz as the front 3 and CP has proven he can ball against WC competition. And the fans are calling for him to play more. I suspect he'll get more minutes after the break and CP will either seize the opportunity and force his way into the lineup more regularly, or he won't and will get sold. Either way seems like a win for him.
Rumor of a swap deal with Bayern Munich: https://www.chelsea-news.co/2022/12/chelsea-offer-christian-pulisic-in-bayern-munich-swap-deal/
Chelsea in a weird spot in that their preferred options have had a mediocre WC and their bench players have played well. Ziyech looks like the player he is, as did Pulisic. Mount started at first but came off the bench for England lately. Havertz was meh. Unpopular opinion: The gum in the works is Sterling. He is just massively overrated as anything other than a provider of verticality who is a mediocre finisher and not good with the ball at his feet. Mount and Havertz are good (in different ways) in the midfield and so-so on the wing. Pulisic’s and Ziyech are solid PL wingers who could be part of an elite forward line with the right CF. But the managers don’t see it that way, and never gave that idea much of a chance to gel. Now they are moving on. Sterling will doom them no matter what they do in January. I hope CP gets out of there.
It's not that good of a situation even if Puli were to get a run of starts over Sterling. Let's not forget Sterling has also been miscast by Potter, played all over the place and used frequently as LWB. Puli needs to move somewhere where the manager isn't using wingers as WB's and he's used either as a winger or off the striker.

If CP is smart, he'd reject that swap deal if it gets to that point. Chelsea probably would hate to strengthen a potential Premiere League rival, so sending him overseas would be great. But for CP, his playing time would not be any better at Bayern..
Man U invented "irritating." I don't see how they can be LESS annoying than Chelsea. To be fair, all top clubs are virtually unlikeable, especially the Top 6 in England. Not that Newbonesawcastle doesn't have its issues as well. Great city and lots of potential for growth there. But that ownership.
Probably a good fit if they can afford him and if he's willing to give up the possibility of playing in Europe (where, IMO, he plays his best at the club level). I just think another top league where he wouldn't get hacked to pieces on a regular basis might be a good move. I don't know more than anyone else, but reading the tea leaves, it looks like he's going to give it a go for the rest of the season at Chelsea. You've got to give the kid credit. Regardless of whether you rate him highly or not, he's trying hard to be a regular starter there. He's no quitter. And he's still going to be just 24 in the summer. The status quo is sub-optimal, but he can survive it a few more months if things don't improve. 9.5 million dollars a year can buy some pretty adequate therapy.

Yeah, that's his talent. Often overlooked, but his ability to carry the ball from midfield to the box is elite. After that, well, he often breaks down.
You have to have support. You have to have other players in and around the box that defenders worry about as well. If you have neither of those things you are likely going to eventually run out of ideas as to what to do.
That is part of it at times maybe but he also tends hold onto the ball in transition while on the break for a bit too long and misses some setup chances.
I rarely say this but Pulisic would thrive in Spain or Italy.. England is a terrible place for him. Also it wouldnt be bad to see CP back in the BL in one of the top 4 teams. England is just not really going to be a league he should be in, constantly being hacked and yanked.. Though Liverpool and City fit his profile as a winger best I think with their styles of play. Maybe even NEwcastle now that they have opened things up. Pulisc needs to be in a style that more open and spaced. Chelsea is a crisis and Im not sure anyone including the players know what their current profile is.
Not going to happen for very many reasons, but I'd love to see him back at Dortumund just to hear someone call a game with Pulisic, Passlack, Pasalic and Papadopoulos. He's such a "do and say the right thing" kind of player it's too bad (except the $$ part) he hasn't landed as a key franchise "heart of the team" guy in a solid, loyal upper-midtable club somewhere. He's the kind of guy that, were he surrounded by less flashy teammates, would be the face of the club, adored by kids and grandmas and friend to all puppies.
