You mean the economy and political instability? Success in football is positively correlated with a strong economy and political stability. Not vice versa.
Agree on first paragraph. Argentina have given up the fewest shots per match of any team in this WC. Very wrong on 2nd paragraph. Attack under Sabella was lightning fast and the forwards individually were faster. The problem with that squad was that the mid could not dominate possession and could not link the defense with attack. So Sabella had them play counterattack. Worked very well! 1994 - 2014 squads all had more talent. This squad is better than 2018.
Not necessarily JB. Uruguay the most stable country in the continent has not achieved anything in the way of a trophy since 2011. There is the factor of population size though. In several sports successful nations have not been particularly stable economically. In one way the levels of poverty mean some strata of society see a sport as the only way to get out of that trap.
They should have been banned from access before this match and should be banned now. If they cannot mind their Ps and Qs. Just to post some sensationalist tittle tattle.
Garnacho should have been called. He has that how shall we put it X factor. As for 2006 I have never watched it again. I remember watching it being completely bamboozled by Pekerman's choices of substitutes. As if he were handing the game to a poor German team. Messi and Saviola would have turned their trees at the back inside out and were exhausted. I cannot bear watching Ayala clenching his fist celebrating with JRR and the others as if destiny were coming at last only to be undone by the manager and the deliberate in my opinion kick on Pato. That team should have won that WC. They were better than anyone else on paper and on the pitch and had the X factor in Messi as well who would have run any defenders into the ground.
The thing with Brazil is that besides their obvious technical quality, their players never seem tired somehow.. they're always playing like they just entered the field. You don't see them losing pace or touch.
