That's how we did it several years ago. At first we had 2 families each with 3 seats. We'd split up games and exchange tickets to have 2, 4 or 6. Then we added another family during STC but kept it 6 tix. We split them 2, 3, or all 6. We carried that arrangement to the new stadium but everyone was reluctant to give up seats and wanted to attend more games. One family had 2 kids and wanted 4 tix and my oldest 2 went off to college. So I really only needed 2 and that's when I moved to Nordecke.
Took me a while to figure that (parking) out. As having your own season tickets was part of the deal to be in the org, I only used the other rarely (but 2008 playoffs vs the Fire was an example).
I just got a somewhat confusing email. So this mentions: 1) Priority access, which was never an advance sign-up in the past. 2) Playoff ticket presale. 3) The link goes to a generic form about what type of tickets (season, partial, group, individual) you want for 2023.
Could we break down prices on Nordecke tickets? 1 - What is the per-game cost as a season ticket member? 2 - What is the fair resell price on the games we know we will not be able to attend? Yes, we have season tickets again. No, we will not be making it to every game. I will feel fortunate to make it to 1/3 of the home games!
1. Season ticket price for Nordecke tickets is $28. 2. The Nordecke Ticket Exchange Facebook group typically frowns upon anything higher than $30/ticket. It's certainly easy enough to sell just one or two tickets vs everything you have for one game. Of course, selling via the TM app, you can try for whatever you can get, but if someone finds out you sold a Hell Is Real ticket for $45, there might be backlash.
Well thanks again. We would like to have (five) Nordecke season tickets every year. Then, do our best to sell off the tickets we know we will not use. If we do not take "major" losses, then I foresee being able to rationalize purchasing season tickets every season. edit: A reasonable selling price to Bigsoccer posters would be 28, of course. (winking face)
Remember that any sales over $600 total for the year is reported to the IRS under new rules, if you go thru their system..
Which of course TM does, but since the FB group and here are essentially cash, it's easy enough to forget about money exchanging hands. Then again, if it's a max of $2/ticket and losses on other tickets....and we all know the government doesn't exactly spend the right amounts of money where it should. And, of course, if someone wants to be 100% truthful and honest, it's definitely honesty which goes a long way in life.
This is just for businesses and other small side gigs, IIRC. Doesn't apply to individuals collecting payments from other individuals on those apps. If I buy a ticket and sell it to a friend, I haven't earned anything since I'm just recouping my cost for the ticket. EDIT: Article added 1099-K Article
As you might note, I said "thru their system". That meant Ticketma$ter. You may have to prove you were jut recouping your cost--and you may have to put that on your 1040 to do so. If you just use TM to transfer a ticket and get the money elsewhere, you are correct.
I reupped for 2 Nordecke tix this year simply because even though I didn't attend several games last year, I was easily able to sell my tickets when not used (for face value or a little more). Only one game I decided last minute not to go and didn't list for sale. But overall I wasn't out a single nickle. With Nordecke being sold out now for season tickets, there will be demand. It's cheapest option to get into games.
Anyone know the answer - How many weeks out from the season/Crewsmas will we be able to manage/sell/transfer tickets? Ballpark historical answer works here.
I attended that Crew 2 game on a general public ticket. It was the Capys game only and had to go through a different gate than STMs and that gate was opened pretty close to kickoff (30 to 45 minutes, IIRC).
Not really a STM thing but - apparently MLS is deploying these DOPE reversible anthem jackets like the adidas teams had at the World Cup. One side normal, other side with a stylized alternate logo. They look sweet. Players were rocking them at the annual media day this week.
