If De Santis is the GOP nominee, I can't think of a better ad against him. Specially if Trump is out of the picture/indicted etc..... That should be under child abuse section too. lol Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) shows his love for President Trump in a new campaign ad where he is seen reading Trump's "Art of the Deal" to his child and dressing him in Make America Great Again clothing.https://t.co/yaO1xzmfGa— Cecelia Rice (@CeceliaRice20) August 17, 2022
Sounds like RDS and state lawmakers are working on a compromise with the House of Mouse. https://www.ft.com/content/64162abf-e0bd-4a6f-968a-cb4872e5c4f5 (if you have a subscription) EDIT paywall. That would be a belief in Jesus Christ as their savior, combined with a belief that racism isn't as pervasive as I think it is.
Prescient or just reading from the GOP playbook? https://www.wogx.com/video/1150117 I am not sure about the "government debt" phrase
Who is surprised by this? Raise your hands. These guys are nothing but a bunch of con men, fraudsters and grifters. Author of Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Bill Is Indicted for Fraud DON’T SAY FELON https://www.thedailybeast.com/flori...ource=twitter_owned_tdb&utm_medium=socialflow
There's a wide open window for DeSantis (and the likes of Pence) to step up right now given Trump's track record in the midterms and say it's time to move on from Trump. It won't happen, because DeSantis is a coward. And unless the person is a 12 year old gay kid, DeSantis is scared of anyone that has a bite. And that includes the GOP base.
Trump got hundreds of redneck losers to contest an election result by going to Washington, rioting and attacking Congresspeople. Ain't no president but Trump ever got that many people to risk their own safety and freedom for the good of their party. It won't happen because the man got them a SCOTUS majority, got their base ready to follow them to Hell and back. He is the best thing to happen to conservatism since D.W. Griffith, and the best POTUS to happen to it since Andrew Johnson. There's no reason for any GOP to be dropping him. He laid them a golden egg. De Santis is supposed to listen to his base. That's his job. The ONLY reason anyone would be running against Trump is for their own ego. There is no way they can do for their party what Trump did.
The gay fallout should not be very far: Rep. Joseph Harding, the Florida House Republican who introduced the notorious “Don't Say Gay” bill, was indicted by a grand jury on Wednesday on two counts of wire fraud, as well as another four charges of money laundering and making false statements. https://t.co/8qNbgZEpMl— The Daily Beast (@thedailybeast) December 7, 2022
This is what Sarah Longwell says here They all want to move on, without actually doing the hard work of defeating him when he is super weak. Best example is Kevin, who needs Trump's support to get speaker "No matter how many supremacists he has dinner with, no matter how many elections he has cost them, he [Trump] still has this control" over the GOP, according to @SarahLongwell25 "They are very afraid of the base that Trump controls." pic.twitter.com/J1UDbVEVUL— Christiane Amanpour (@amanpour) December 7, 2022
This. Trump still commands an army of 30-35% of the electorate and 90%+ of the GQP. The Republican establishment cannot rebel against him because they only represent the minority of the party, but without the never-Trumpers and "independents" that consistently vote GQP, the party doesn't have enough votes to win competitive seats. Sure, they'll easily win in Texas, Wyoming, West Virginia and Florida, etc, but that only takes them to around 230 EVs, 210 house seats and 48-50 senators. The party elders know that even with all the chicanery allowed by this SCOTUS, they are likely to lose in every coming electoral cycle if Trump is their guy, but they cannot get rid of him, because the bulk of the party will likely stay home, so they'll lose anyways, and probably by even worse margins.
Why do y'all keep asking what the GOP is going to do??? This is who they are, lock, stock, and barrel, and as soon as they realize it, we're all in a fair amount of trouble.
Only thing of benefit long term is SCOTUS, everything else has been problematic. GOP was on the verge of dropping him right after January 6th, but they're still scared of him. Only two of Trump's candidates in the midterms have won, he's lost a reelection, and anyone with sense knows he's electoral poison. And while I agree he is the best thing to happen to the GOP, the problem is for the GOP is that they have nowhere to go.
If his candidates are losing elections, it's certainly not because America has rejected conservatism. It's got to be somethiing unrelated to race, but I can't imagine how or why.
He wouldn't be electoral poison if conservatives would simply be themselves. It's their cowardice that's costing them, not their morals.

As someone who had worked polls, shit like that is not funny. And that was before poll workers started getting threats.
