Currently the Revs have the 10th pick in the 1st Round, then picks 39 and 68 in the 2nd and 3rd respectively. You'd like to think that at least with the 10th pick, they might be able to get someone that can help (or stockpile Revs II).

Interesting that Vermont, who finished in second in America East and then went on an impressive NCAA run (including beating UCLA) to reach the quarterfinals didn't get a player included. Not that I expected to see it, just ... interesting.
An interesting look back. 75% of first-round picks signed. Beyond that, 14%. College to MLS: Which SuperDraft picks are most impactful in 2022? By Jonathan Sigal Wednesday, May 25, 2022, 02:23 PM
I think it is very likely they'll pick a defender - and most likely a central defender, though we could use more wing depth and coverage in case DuJuan Jones leaves after this season. Defender has long been where the most value is in the draft (and forward clearly the least). With a pick in the first half of the first round, you should be able to get a defender who has a very good chance of becoming an MLS starter, if not the first year, then down the line. Up in the top 5 or so, that guy should probably start right away, i.e., a Farrell, Kessler or Parkhurst. I wouldn't expect us to move up, but if there's someone they particularly like, as with Kessler, they have assets to do so.
Draftopia says we loaded in the backline so they predict the Revs take forward Levante Johnson from Syracuse.
Sounds like they are out-of-date with the off-season transactions. We've lost DeLa Garza and Bell and were already too thin at central last season. Spaulding is an adequate bench player right now, but it remains to be seen if he's really MLS quality or just a spot starter/sub. Drafting forwards is a real gamble (one that we lost with last year's pick); I really don't expect us to go down that road again.
In a very sensical manner, Matt Doyle has the Revs top draft need as CB. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/cheat-sheet-what-all-29-teams-need-in-the-2023-mls-superdraft
Taking Kizza instead of a defender remains extremely puzzling. Taking Jackson last year is less so, but it still doesn't sit well with me that we used a 1st rounder to sign a senior roster player that was going play exclusively for R2 by design.
The draft is no longer a primary source of talent. The growth of the academy system has greatly reduced the pool available in the draft.
Anyone know anything about Moise Bombito from UNH? Shakur Mohammed's name sounds like a melding of [very] former Revs.
Reading Moise Bombito was born in Montreal, so he may take up an international spot. One of the MLS draft articles indicated Canadian teams would be more inclined to look at him - I assume he doesn't have dual citizenship based on that.
It would make sense to me if MLS considered Us and Canadian born players to be excluded from international designation for all MLS teams since the league has teams in both countries.
Strangely, it only works in one direction. Canadian teams can have US players considered as domestic, but not US teams the other way around.

Revs just traded up for the #4 overall pick (with SJE). $250K GAM spread over 2023 and 2024 (and the #10 overall pick).
Revs take Joshua Bolma, M, Maryland. Grew up in Connecticut. Being compared to Tajon Buchanan by the draft pundits.
