In years past, this forum did a fantasy draft at the start of every year. But during the USMNT’s dark age, it sort of fizzled out. I believe we’ve got back to the point where it would be a lot of fun to try and resurrect this game.

    Who would be interested?

I would be interested too. I remember the old drafts. They were fun.

I don’t know if he’s even around anymore but Adam Belz and everyone over at Scuffed Global HQ might be interested. I’ll post in the Patreon Discord about it.

An auto-draft would make this exponentially less cumbersome & incentivize people (like myself) to sign up.

So I'd say either find an online tool for this or do it manually thru a neutral arbiter.

I have no idea if you could find a company or app that has software that could do this for a sport outside of mainstream fantasy. But honestly, I’m more interested in organizing/managing it than actually participating as a team owner.

I’d say 4 groups of 3 would be ideal. Group winners would play in the semifinals, then 2 winners would play for the championship. I’d say start the draft in mid-March, finish up around the time the Euro seasons end in late May. I need to go back to past years and look at the rules.

Upon a brief search, this is the closest I found, & there's a charge for over 15 picks. https://www.onlinedraft.com/

I've never played fantasy soccer to know if there's a specific site w/ a custom autodraft that could be adapted for this.

There almost must be options out there. Has to be some demand and it's an easy program to make if that's your business.

But if you're just willing to sift thru all the draft rankings after you receive them, that's fine too. I guess each player would have to account for needs themselves, or give you positional orders as well.

That looks like a great site! And if we get 12 teams, the cost would be less than $3/team. I wonder how we would import the players, but I’m sure we could figure it out.

Ah yes, I remember the days of picking Freddy Adu, Brian Illoski and some other U11 player during the first rounds of the draft.

Now would be a good time to revive this, as we head into this all important '26 cycle where we host and may be contenders. Would give not only the people participating, but some on the outside, a chance to gauge our outlook and figure out who to watch in the years upcoming.

Lack of depth was a key to our downfall, and whoever our manager is has to start building, or drawing from it as it materializes. We already know most of the main protagonists. The details set you apart.

There doesn't have to be a rush this time. There won't be much going on in our USMNT bubble for a few months.

Incidentally, Scuffed said they'll be doing this as well.
