No, THAT’s not why he’s less capable. It’s because he actually, genuinely doesn’t have the requisite abilities, has never displayed anything to the contrary, and never will.
You don't even have to be good technically, you just need composure and sound decision making. Having a get out pass is neat and super useful against the best presses but not essential. Teams cannot cover all that ground continually, they have to drop off at some point.
I'd be very interested to see Rashford-----Bruno----Antony --------------FredEriksen ------------------ Case at some point. Bruno and Eriksen alternating at the 10. Fred doing the dirty work, Case for security Rashford and Antony as the outlets/deep threats. It wouldn't work against teams sitting back, but it would be fun in transitions.
Two questions. Who would the forward be to complete the front 6. Martial from our team I assume. But since all hypothetical who would you bring in within reason. Nketiah? Second, why would it not work against teams that sit back? Think our FBs can push up into the attack and rafe can step into the middle of needed.
Bruno and Rashford work best when there's space to pass/run into. Against a deep block, less of that. Nkettiah, Sesko, Oshimen would be good fits. If we wanted to be a little more experimental and or risky; Boulaye Dia, Jonathan Burkhardt or Awoniyi (if Forest get relegated). It would be hilarious if we got another Portugues speaker so personally, I'd love someone like Beto or Andre Silva, strictly for FC Portuguese vibes. I'm of the opinion that it is time to start adding players who are about to be stars rather than stars on the wane. We've seen this with Amad and Hannibal and Garnacho of late. Amad has been a wiff so far, but hopefully the loan will be of use and he can be a squad player.
If anyone wants to see what the impact of EtH is on United, watch the first 12 minutes of the Arsenal game. We've not played football like that, sustained over 12 minutes for a long, long time. 12 mins doesn't seem like a long time, but Arsenal barely had a touch in that time. We were utterly dominant and had 2 or 3 chances (Eriksen volley, Sancho shot, Dalot dribble and cutback) and in complete control. We broke their lines continually (Martinez probably had 3 linebreaking passes off 1 or 2 touches in this period) and we played neat triangles on the left (mainly) and Antony held width and used his gravity to create space for Dalot. What is great about it is Arsenal were organized and pretty deep but we were still able to open them up. We opened them up a bunch of times by holding the ball, and then passing backwards - baiting the press and switching the point of attack. Nothing we didn't wasn't repeatable or sustainable over longer periods. We got spooked with their disallowed goal AND Arsenal gained confidence. If we can do that (sustained pressure and confident football) for 2 or 3 spells in a match, we will be smoking teams who are not as well organized as Arsenal. If I were EtH, I'd play this period in the video review of the match over and over. Drill it into the players that this is what they are capable of. I thought it was Liverpool being off the pace, but there were brief periods and chances created when their midfield couldn't get close to us. Don't let anyone tell you this is Ole ball. We are moving the ball with a plan and a purpose and we have coordinated synchronus movements starting to pop up everywhere and that will only grow the longer they play together and under EtH.
what's with the Nketiah thing of late? why him? his own fans don't rate him. not that that is a validation either way but what are you seeing there or think you see there that would make him good enough?
I feel about Nkettiah the way I felt about Tammy Abraham when he was at Chelsea. I don't care what fans think of their players - half of this board thought Carrick was the problem for like 2-3 years. Nketiah presses well, he's good technically, he's strong, his movement is excellent, he provides a ton of box presence and just about the only weakness he has is he doesn't pass creatively. If I were creating a forward to play alongside Sancho & Antony and one who would share minutes with Martial, I would create Nketiah with more aerial ability.
i'd prefer Abraham over him and Martínez overall but OK. agree on the fans too. sometimes they are right like maybe a Xhaka but then there are instances like Carrick. i'll even extend it to Blind when he couldn't hold the entire midfield alone. it is what it is
So Tammy is an excellent 9. I've got nothing against him. I think he'd probably cost more than Nketiah and wouldn't lead the press in the same way.
https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...all-news/man-united-ten-hag-training-24993048 - wrong footed training sessions for certain players (EtH noted shortage of lefties, but this includes players weak on right foot, like Shaw) - Antony and Case have increased competition for places - EtH has impressed everyone, "United quickly bought into his ideas" - EtH is instilling discipline, is "unforgiving of poor professionalism," but it's "balanced (by) his personable nature" - switched the dugouts closer to where players warm-up - ended hotel pre-stays at The Lowry - players not leaving early from games Coaches, disciplines and attends to detail. Good man.
As mad as I am about lost momentum and the fact that our already tight schedule is getting tighter. This extended break from league play, in the build up to the international break will give EtH and the squad some much needed time on the training pitch to do some extensive sessions and deep learning. I think the benefits will be seen on the pitch... maybe not right away but eventually.

Wasnt aware - maybe shows why EtH likes to have Scott as the advanced midfielder at times, as he was for his goal late in the Villa game. 1590827575429197825 is not a valid tweet id
