The simple answer to that is NO top club will come in for him. Who would risk paying substantial salaries to him knowing he could spit his dummy out any time.
congrats @Anti Santos on your QF advancement!!! so now lookiing like Dutch vs Argentina England vs France Brazil vs Croatia Portugal vs Morocco
If Ronaldo wins the WC, we'll never hear the end of it(even if he is a benchwarmer and does not contribute). So Portugal better not win it even though I like some of their players such as Nuno Mendes, Leao and Bernando Silva.

Great credit to Des Santos for having the balls to bench a hasbeen. Maybe Flick(if he stays) needs to learn a valuable lesson.
Switzerland are usually defensively very solid. How did they concede 6 goals? Maybe the reason is that they spent a lot of energy in the previous match vs Serbia and only had 3 days rest. A lot of teams have been complaining about the schedule. Argentina struggled physically. Berhalter didn't rotate much in the group stages and his players looked knackered vs Holand. One more day of rest could have helped the smaller teams in the Round of 16. It makes a difference at the highest level.
what is USA gonna do anyways? Their pool isn't great and they could never get result against anyone. So of course was gonna be forced to barely rotate. you tend to rotate more when you seal deal early. USA only barely won 1-0 vs Iran and that's only result they got in 4 matches. And Iran had chances to score too. Swiss can't rotate either as they needed to make sure not to L vs Serbia and Serbia wasn't as easy for them to disapatch.
1599897062631317504 is not a valid tweet id From a player POV I get it. After playing in that game many of the guys will feel that way but I hope they all had a post match analysis and realized Netherlands let them play that way. Yes USA played well, but it was also a strategy against them that worked perfectly.— Alex Reifschneider (@Areif12) December 5, 2022 1599900292736110592 is not a valid tweet id That’s a youth soccer mentality, losing by multiple goals but then preaching your the better team. Does he really not realize Holland let them play like that. It’s actually shocking.— gasoccerforum.com (@gasoccerforum) December 6, 2022 If Tyler Adams actually said this, it is troubling. It means that he (and the USMNT) has no notion of the mediocrity they actually are and represent. The USMNT has contributed NOTHING to the men’s game globally except an extension of our national arrogance.— Gaia Labs (@PhilosophicalVC) December 6, 2022
One thing that I took note, beside the Ronaldo psychodrama of being benched and a terrible performance by his standards for Sommer, is that Brazil, Portugal and France were the teams who rested more players on the last match, all of them lost, and on the next match at least Korea and Switzerland looked tired for this one. I don't know if Spain wasn't a better opponent for us, I am expecting an agressive Morocco defending all over the pitch.
Netherlands-Portugal Final all the way! If such a final takes place Portugal will surely win because the Netherlands have never, and I mean NEVER, beaten Portugal. All competitive encounters between both countries always resulted in Portugal wins.
I really hope Spain dropped the game against Japan to avoid Croatia and Brazil, only to be knocked out by Morocco
He is the best German youngster since.................................cant even think of anyone that had the same dribbling skills and football IQ to be honest. We are incredibly lucky he chose us over England. Flick needs to build the team around him the way the french built the team around Mbappé.
Do you guys remember the 2006 WC R16 game between The Netherlands and Portugal? There must have been at least a dozen yellow cards and 3/4 red cards. It is rumoured that MMA as a sport took off after this game. Kids world over tried to imitate what their onscreen heroes did in the match.
The Battle of Nuremberg. That match holds the record for most red cards in a World Cup match (2 for each team, 4 total).
