Good morning, boys and girls! Let’s start the day with a song.

One of these cities is not like the others,
One of these cities just doesn’t belong,
Can you guess which city is not known for men’s fashion,
Before I finish this song …

    London
    Milan
    Newcastle

Did you guess which city is not like the others,
Did you guess which city just doesn’t belong,
Can you guess which city would have to triple my income,
And that still might not be enough.

    Lifestyle, baby!

When you have lots of money, an urban center can be very, very enjoyable. The larger area has 750k people. If he does end up there I'm sure he'll have an enjoyable time of it.

I live in Milwaukee, as does the greatest basketball player alive, Giannis Antetokounmpo. I enjoy life here. He enjoys life here. Smaller cities can offer just as good of a quality of life as the large cities!

His touch was dadgum shocking at times during this WC, but I remember it mostly being quite good when he’s playing with Fulham. Or am I off? He couldn’t even trap the ball at points, but maybe it can just be tied to playing at a WC? I don’t remember him doing this stuff with Fulham.

I wouldn't say he was ever nifty with the ball but he certainly seemed to struggle more in this WC with repeated heavy touches. I think this aspect of his game was what kept him from being called in regularly to US camps earlier in the cycle. Eventually, it became obvious he was the best LB despite the loose touches.

You're drunk like you whole state. Go to bed and wake up with a clear mind. We all know that label belongs to Nikola Jokić. He's doing things that no big man has done with his 83 triple doubles, ranking his 6th all time. Before you say it.... yes it's my Denver bias coming out and yes.... we are all high in Denver. :D ;)

And to your original point..... agreed that smaller cities can offer up as good a quality of life as bigger cities. Or in Denver's case.... a small city that has exploded to 3M in the metro area, almost a 20% increase in 12 years. Despite my complaints - looking at you, Mr Housing Market - it's a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family.

Hmmm dudes a left back and only the very top clubs have extra of those. I also think he isn't really too old to get better on many of his weaknesses.

Our lad had a very good world cup, even if he was asked to play a bit too many minutes at a high tempo. Going to be fun watching his career.

Interesting memory. I recall one moment, wide and deep on the left he took a long switching pass I was afraid he'd turn over and just gently cushioned it with hardly a glance at foot or ball. Even the commentator noted it. It was a glue-boot cushion. One trap does not a WC make, of course, but I wonder if his touch was worse than comparable position players. I had a general impression he was pretty steady in receiving the ball but, of course, was not keeping count.

This was my thought, I felt like it got looser as games wore on, but that is true of most players whose game is based mostly on speed and run as much as he was doing.

I think the problem occurs more when he is moving and especially at speed which isn't surprising.

Yeah, I don't claim to have had any kind of approach beyond "vibes" - and expectations. I have always thought he had a bit of a loose touch and he was more precise than I expected, so that probably colored it as well. All in all, I think it was a good WC for him. I'd love him to stay at Fulham as I like following them, but wouldn't be surprised if he gets a nice move.

    Report that Newcastle are interested:

    BBC Radio Newcastle
    @bbcnewcastle

Newcastle United are reportedly looking at making a move for 25-year-old Antonee Robinson.

The Fulham defender has impressed playing for the United States at the 2022 World Cup.

Would you like to see him at St. James' Park?

Why would Fulham be selling him in the middle of the season? Just a couple losses and they are in relegation battle.

His contract expires in 2024, so if he's on the way out, they're going to get a lot more for him in January than they are in July.

They might also think that he's not essential to their ability to stay up.

I would be surprised if they sell him this winter unless really crazy money.n The little his backup has played has not been pretty. Fulham isn't that strong that they can take anything for granted.

This was my impression - when he was moving fast to meet the ball he often had a heavy touch that prevented him reaching the second touch before the defender.

Also possible that his sore ankle was throwing off his touch. Plus being exhausted by fourth game.

I’m sure Marco Silva will be happy to see him spend some time in the tub back at Fulham. Beyond all of the minutes, he was taking a bit of a beating against NED.

Still waiting for the Jedi all-touches, soccer AI bot gods. Why did Al Gore bother to invent the internet if technology can't at least do that?

If anything we relied on him to do too much. He needed to attack and defend at 100% pace four games straight. Very few players in the world can do that. He got no rest at all. That's where not finishing off Wales or Iran really hurt us. If we get the 2-0 lead, we can consider subbing in Scally at LB and giving AR a rest.

Yeah, I'm of the mind that Jedi is good when he plays within his strength and gets in trouble when he tries to do too much. But (especially from a NT standpoint) there is no better time for him to make a move to test himself.

They bought another LB this summer (Kurzawa) and he started one match when Jedi was hurt. He sucked horribly. The FFC fans all think that Jedi will refuse to sign a new contract and force a transfer and they are all sad about that (but happy for Antonee, they love him). FFC will vastly prefer to keep him but don’t think they will have that choice. But I don’t think they will sell in January unless they go on a serious quick win streak and get 9-12 points before the window closes. At that point, they might feel safe and take the extra money.

Jedi is one of my favorite players because of that deft touch you describe. He has some brilliance that comes through often playing with Fulham, but I just feel he consistently struggled with his technicality at times during the WC. I think the Dutch ran roughshod up and down his side because of it, but I agree with others he put in some real effort for us and I bet he was exhausted by the time we came to that match.

Hell of a player though. Looking forward to his next steps.
