Argentinians were sweating profusely too. Messi was soaking wet in the 11 th minute already. It was 28c and over 70% humidity. We still scored 5 goals.

Anyways Polonia scored. Stats keeps sucking though.

They are missing a couple of their best players ie Isak. Nonetheless I think we have a great advantage in that there is only a week of preparation and the conditions.

We can keep the ball for fun plus the lineup is settled and has great cohesion. Everyone knows what to do.

True, except defence is a bit worrying when opponents counters directly with speed. We saw Foyth, Licha and Molina somehow gets beaten rather easily against UAE. Granted the players certainly not playing at their maximum level, but a single mistake at the back could be costly at KO stage.

So it appears USA and Canada are in negotiations with CONMEBOL to participate in Copa America 2024

They intend to use it as “preparation” for the 2026 WC

Unlike other times when it coincided with Gold Cup (resulting in alternate rosters), the rescheduling of Copa America will allow them to send their best (Gold Cup is 2023 and 2025)

I never understood the US sending weak teams to CA where they valued the Gold Cup more. For what… so they could possibly play in the Confederations Cup? We stopped the invites after they sent these weaker teams.

But there is money in the US and Mexican markets, so this is not a surprise. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just host it in the US.

With no more Confederations Cup that should hopefully end that excuse. The Nations League crap and COVID made it tough to schedule any decent friendlies for USA so this should bring some actual competition for the first time in a while. Should just drop the extra Gold Cup per cycle already.

I’ll say this. I’ll be pulling for Napoli to win the league this season. This was wonderful support.

The reports from Brazil are that Pele is in the stages of kidney and heart failure and is not long for this world this time.

    Repost from social media —

DID YOU KNOW: The Mbappe and Haaland thing is impressive. This year the Frenchman has 55 goals in 55 games and the Norwegian has 42 in 40. Two beasts at their best. Their numbers are so amazing that when added together, the combined number goes up to 97 goals in 95 games, they are pretty close to the 91 goals in 69 games Messi scored in 2012.
God damn, that 2012 season from Messi never ceases to amaze.

At Mbappe's age, Messi has won multiple CL & multiple Balon.

It's interesting how Mbappe's and Messi's early club vs. international careers have basically been opposites. Messi had the superior early club career while Mbappe had the superior early international career. It seems like Mbappe has had a better supporting cast with France while Messi had a better supporting cast with Barcelona. Mbappe will have to win multiple CLs in his career now that Messi has a World Cup though. He may also have to win a championship in a superior league too.

So, it looks like the brazucas are looking at a foreign manager to take over the helm. Some of the names include, Zidane, Luis Enrique, Tuchel and Poch(lol).

It is interesting they are moving towards a foreigner.

I think they’ve already exhausted all their good domestic options.. maybe Renato Gaucho is decent, but other than that who else?

Unlike us, the Brazilians aren’t exactly known for producing good coaches.. I mean look at even their domestic clubs.. the more successful sides like Flamengo and Palmeiras have been led by Portuguese managers like Jorge Jesus, Vitor Pereira, Abel Ferreira… a lot of Argentines move there to coach also, as have Sampaoli, Coudet, Turco Mohamed, Gareca, etc in recent years.

The Brazucas really can’t produce tactical masterminds and are resorting to Mexican tactics of seeking foreigners to lead them to glory

Please no. If he's gonna coach another country let it be USA at least. He did play in MLS after all.

Not sure where to put this, but read Pele’s condition is really deteriorating. An absolute legend, definitely Top 3 all-time. The original trailblazer.
