Some studio TV folks wearing sneakers, some dress shoes. I think I prefer the latter. Keep rocking, Alexi.

I actually like Alexi. Yeah hooray henry and all that but I love the passion he projects, both patriotically and for the game itself.

Alexei's a bit of a shitstarter and he's a troll at times, but people largely don't like Lalas because they don't agree with him.

The USMNT fanbase has a lot of sacred cows and a lot of collective groupthink, and regardless of whether he's right or wrong, Lalas likes to come at that.

The England-France is the only QF where two Champions meet.

5-1 here does not look that bad as 4-1 in Bra vs Kor game

Unfair, allowing the old man to run for nothing.

A Netherlands-Portugal final would be fun. The two teams to deserve it most but that have never won it. It'd be hardly fought. Literally.

To be fair, France has only won twice and 20 years apart while Brazil was last in a final 20 years ago.

Portugal should just send Ronaldo home. Don't want him pouting in the locker room and they look much better without him.

Have to be fair in that Portugal were excellent tonight.

Switzerland were awful. Ronaldo thought the result was all down to him.

They were both pretty bad. Korea at least can boast one of the best goals of the tournament so far. Maybe the second-best of the game, though. That Richarlison goal was just very, very Brazilian.

We may not have been the best of the sides that went out at the R16 stage, but we definitely weren't the worst.

CR did look happy for fellow old man Pepe. But seeing the Benfica kid bag a hat trick had to have made the specter of imminent career death all too real.
