It was Hwang Sunhong, not KHB. Compared with HSH KHB is not bad. But he is not enough. I like Jeong Jeongyong better. Not necessarily because he is a good manager but he has far less ego and is willing to change and learn.
Is Kim Byung-ji daft? Bento already declined an extension back in September, plus I doubt he'll want to continue managing the knt after how the KFA treated him. He stayed for 4 years and got us to the Round of 16, his job in Korea is done, time to move on.
I'd rather have Ahn Jung Hwan over KHB, HSH, or CYS (half serious). People are forgetting that 2020 Olympics was a shitshow with KHB. He also only used LKI on the bench despite it being clear that he was the best player on the team. Players came out and mentioned he used 꼰대 training tactics like forcing players to ride team buses without air conditioning to prepare for the Japanese weather (while he himself took buses with AC). I know he "looks" like a manager and has a cool name but no more clown 꼰대s like this please.
We need a manager that can sort out our defense No, Qatar next summer. Our players are gonna be so fatigued for this season and the next one
we had him already hard pass on his archaic style how does Lowe even go around in public? lol i think theres one where he picks his ass and licks it
I remember watching Ki SY play in a do or die match at Swansea. If they lost the game then they would be relegated. They were in fact losing and every Swansea player was launching absolute Hail Marys, abandoning any of their core passing tenets they had developed over the years. Everyone except Ki SY, who was casually recycling possession and enraging Swansea fans with his lack of urgency. All this is to say that if we want a manager who has Bento-level stubbornness + commitment to a passing philosophy, we shouldn’t look further past Captain Ki
I’m serious about this too. IMO Ki is the most genius Korean football player ever. Has deep understanding of the game, mentally tough, and the combativeness to stand up to KFA. The problem is he’s the type to just want to relax and enjoy life - I think more people should accuse him of being a molester so that he’s forced to take the job to clean up his reputation.
Even though he'll probably be washed by 2026, SHM should absolutely have a say in choosing the new manager. He knows what a good coach entails
Pochettino would be on the top of my list. next, Jesse Marsch if he ends up getting canned soon at Leeds.
My choices: 1. Conservative: 허정무. Get him some good staff, and he might energize players and repeat or exceed 2010. I could see KFA doing this. 2. Slightly risky: Hiddink. One last try with a legend. Excellent manager and coach who'd get the public excited. He might be scared of ruining his legacy in case of a failure. But the next WC should be easier. 3. Risky: Halilhodžić. Excellent tactician, but doesn't tolerate big stars not falling in line. I think Son isn't the guy to oppose managers, but LKI might? Might not. KFA might want to prove Japan that they missed out on a good manager, LOL. But less likely than the choices above. 4. Adventurous/pipedream: Ivan Jurić. He knows more about defending than Bento, and can overachieve with smaller sides. Would need to be pried away from the 9th-placed Torino. Just my wishful thinking.
I pray we don't get another Korean manager... I hope Son sweet-talks Poch into taking on the role for us. (Bielsa would be a dream...)
I know he hasn't had the best track record as of late... But given that we're in a transitional period of our brand of football, i'd rather our NT adopt his philosophy, than to bring another domestic manager and we end up chasing our own tail for another 4 years...
Poch is currently my number 1 candidate even though it's merely just a pipedream. I also would've loved to have Herve Renard as our manager, but he already signed a contract extension with Saudi Arabia back in May. He did mention that he was close to becoming our manager before we ended up with Bento, but the KFA didn't want to pay for his fees since he was still tied to Morocco at that time. Kim Pan-gon did try everything in his power to bring a decent foreign name, it's just unfortunate some of them were only interested in the money while the KFA weren't willing to pay for other candidates even when having matched their wages with the association's budget. The KFA seriously needs to stop using domestic managers as their 호구 for their incompetency.
lol...remember when KJC n PJH were at Meinz and Tuchel joked about how one day he may become the coach of KNT?
https://n.news.naver.com/sports/qatar2022/article/076/0003947592 The KFA fighting over whether to go foreign or domestic.
anyone else think its bad style for the manager to disengage, after 4 years tenure, the day of elimination? im like.....why? couldnt have waited at least a week or two? i didnt understand the urgency to report ir
