Only #1 PlaySimple and #2 cpthomas correctly have all four College Cup teams. Many missed with Notre Dame instead of North Carolina and a good number missed with Virginia instead of UCLA. And, McSkillz has escaped the basement!
Standings going into the Championship game, with our having two possible contest winners, PlaySimple (UCLA) or Soccerhunter (North Carolina):
Here are the final prediction contest standings. Congratulations to PlaySimple, who is a clear winner. For the humans, next comes Soccerhunter and then Pin Action and stubifier. On the rating system side, my Balanced RPI is tied for second with Soccerhunter. The Committee is in 10th place; and the RPI and my Pre-Season RPI are tied for 14th. McSkillz is way down in 24th place and I am sure could not care less.
Thanks CPThomas, yes I'm critical of a statistics leader but I wanted to thank you for all you did do in orchestrating this fun little tournament for us old school Big Soccer people. I would have said this even if we did lose but since we did win, I still stand close to my predictions in that if USC or Stanford had faced us, we would have lost. They know our game better than these east coast big teams.
Thanks for putting this together. Fun to follow. I let my emotions get the best of me on a couple picks. What a final game!!
