Venezuela used a u21 or u23?

I get this is to make youth players ready for the sudamericana but it’s also a great chance to export players

would have rather used a u21 team and played France had a few of those guys get sold abroad.

the display today was pathetic and just shows how bad Venezuela is.

the goalie had some nice saves on our side but mf and strikers for Colombia outside of free kicks was like watching 6 year olds play

The Sudamericano and the WC thereafter are far bigger venues that do more to expose our players.

Besides, adding the few older players who are available, not in the playoffs or abroad already, doesn't in any way guarantee we win this game.

At no level does Colombia know how to cross or score?

the team is decent but omg…. Like no shots at goal and can’t pass/shoot anywhere near the box

 

We couldn't even properly handle Veneuzela I am not surprised that we can't do anything with Mexico.

 

Venezulea was 2 years older at least than Colombia. It really looked like Freshmen in Highschool vs a Senior or a college team.

Mexico they looked the same age not sure what the Mexican team was. Colombia was a u20 or U19

Puerta really the only one that stood out for me.

I had no idea this tournament was even going on.

Besides Monsalve, has anybody been performing well?

 

Fue bastante difícil lucirse porque el terreno de juego estaba en un estado terrible debido a la lluvia. Encontré a Andrés Salazar (Fortaleza) y a Daniel Luna (Cali) bastante activos en la banda izquierda, y a Ricardo Caraballo (Barranquilla) bastante interesante en un rol de pivote.
El próximo partido es el sábado a las 2 PM hora de Colombia, contra Chile, televisado en la página web del evento: si se gana o si se empata, hay clasificacion para las semifinales; si se pierde, hay eliminacion.

 

Victoria 3-0 contra Chile, muy buen partido mientras que se jugo a 10 contra 11 una hora. Chile casi no tuvo una oportunidad. Monsalve hizo otra vez la diferencia, en el inicio del juego, pero se lesiono después. Partidazo del capitan Gustavo Puerta, que hizo dos asistencias. Manyama de Cortulua top también. Semifinal el lunes contra el local Paraguay a las 7AM hora de Colombia

The kid is being called the Colombian Messi by some.
Lot's of hype.

 

I remember when Quintero had that same label...and many other "new messi"s with that title being given around.

I just want a game changing player who can influence their generation.

 

Angel's kid has been wonderful for the U20 squad; think he can make an impact for us next year when qualifying for the u20 world cup?

In fact, I'm praying MLS loans out Duran for the Sudamericano because I have no faith at all in this team with Angel as its main goal threat...

if we are lucky, we might get them loaned for the U20-WC

 

Who is the Man U kid?

 

Mejia is Spanish with Colombian parents. I remember he got signed by Man U from Zaragoza a few years ago.

Turns out he's had season-ending injuries twice. Hasn't played much at all.

He's the #7 in this video. He scored a goal and generally looks like a real athletic forward. Kinda like a Muriel.

 

It seems like a miracle.

I guess the Federation really wants to look good at home in the Sudamericano and increase the chances of winning it.

 

Cali has been chosen for the Group stage of the Sudamericano Sub 20 Championship.

Bogota will be the Final Stage.
