Didn’t expect such a stress free round of 16 for England against Senegal. In cruise control since the first goal and all three goals oozed class and quality of midfield and captain Kane!
    Next up, France!!

Was just wondering why some of these players wouldn’t bring their families to the games.
Yes, thieves are douchebags but isn’t there a ring in Europe who targets high profile players and their homes? This seems to happen at least once a year.

Mbappe is a weapon. What a player.

    Still, it's coming home.

A 40 year old Modric may still be the hottest midfielder in Croatia NT

A report was published that only Neuer and Goretzka wanted to protest at the world cup. The rest of the players disagreed with it and "just wanted to be left alone and play football".

The "mouth closed" gesture was suggested by Goretzka's agent, who was also disclosed to have been the current German chancelors campaign manager and who's advertising agency also handles promotional campaigns for the DFB and the covid campaign for the German government.

I've read some comments by leading pundits and former players saying that Neuer handled against the team's interest and should retire.

If you went to the drawing board to design a fullback to stop Mbappe, you would end up with something very similar to Kyle Walker. So that game will be very interesting.

I've been enjoying this world cup way too much, and to be honest the absence of dumbass casuals just along for the ride for some good old casual nationalism is probably the reason.

Too risky to start him imo, I'd use him as a super impact sub. I doubt it's purely Tite's call.

It's unfair for Modric to play in this Croatia team.. mediocre front-line

Modric himself has lost the ball many times in the midfield.

    Japan is overwhelming Croats now

Brazil played Japan in a friendly this year and I was pretty impressed by how they played. Less naive than in the past. We won by a narrow 1 x 0 scoreline. Just thought they fell in a group too tough for them to get out from.

Croatia is so sloppy and has no intensity. Japan is a better team in the first half. They can run... A LOT.
