Brazil v. Republic of Korea Doha (Stadium 974) Dec 5, 2022 10 pm - Qatar 7 pm - London (GMT) 2 pm - New York City
Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles are out of the WC. Neymar most likely won't play. Danilo and Alex Sandro are doubtful.
Yep. Knee. Both of them. Jesus is only 3-4 weeks. Not sure what exactly. Alex Telles is probably a ligament problem and a longer recover / possible surgery.
OMG, Can South Korea win? I would LOVE to see South Korea upset, but even with the injuries, I have a hard time seeing it.
According to Tite, Neymar should be available to play tomorrow vs South Korea and he has hinted that he will be starting.
Basically trying to take Neymar and Brazil’s players out to help them win the game, LOL. Like what Serbia did.
Danilo will also be available for the game tomorrow. Expected Lineup: Alisson; Militão, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Danilo Casemiro, Paqueta Neymar Raphinha, Richarlison, Vin Jr.
I would be already happy if South Korea keeps it close. Back in June these two met in a friendly in Seoul and the result was 5-1 for Brazil.
I love Brazil... but with all the twists this world cup I could imagine a South Korea vs Japan quarterfinal. We are being hosted by AFC. Tho it could be the battle of Liberdade Japan vs Brazil. Or the revenge of Match 1 2014. I still turn a blind eye to the Fred PK
Going to this match. Don't think it'll be that great a game to be honest as I expect Brazil to win "comfortably" but you never know. Anything can happen. Can't believe this could be the last ever match played at the 974 Stadium as this is supposed to be one of those stadiums that'll be dismantled and then rebuilt from scratch. It's basically made of of 974 shipping containers that make up the exterior walls. When I told my daughter we were going there, she couldn't container excitement...
Brazil do not totally dominate the pitch, sort of like France so it won't be just a complete beatdown I think South Korea will have at least bits of play where they look competitive. They should start Kang-In Lee who has shown hints of being a breakout star at this World Cup. Brazil sometimes detaches the striker too much and don't get good quality shots despite their quality, Korea's weakness at RB will have to hold up against Neymar/Vinicius to stop this. I actually like Korea a bit above the market here, even though of course Brazil more likely to win https://saturdays.substack.com/p/the-big-brazil-south-korea-preview
Under Tite, Brazil has played 8 games. We've only scored goals in the 1st half in 2 of those games (Swiss 18 and Serbia 18). Let's see if we can score in the 1st half today.
