WC 2022 - Off Season Fun Thread

  1. Having worked with Kosovans I can attest the blood hatred of anything Serbian is real.

Canadian keeper Milan Borjan, an ethnic Serbian, was doxxed by Croatian supporters who got his cell phone number. His family was driven out of his home town in the Croatian War Of Independence.

England do not look good, but neither do Senegal.

Senegal look much more lively, though.

And, just as I was saying England do not look good, they score.

Jordan Henderson with the goal, from a pretty nice play.

Now, it is 2-0 England at the end of the first half.
    Very nice counter attack.

England playing at 3/4 speed, but they are really outplayed Senegal.

France v. England in the quarterfinals.

Netherlands v. Argentina in the other one.

Both have the potential to be excellent matches.

While Japan has a chance against Croatia, but Korea/Brazil most likely will not be close.

Thanks for those videos on explaining the whole Swiss Albanian Serbia connections. Excellent and oddly...I like Shaquiri even more now.

These are fun matchups, such different styles.

My gut is France’s speed will simply be too much for England, and the other will be who scores first.

England’s seems to play an ugly brand of soccer but if/when they get a goal, they don’t mind risking things and they go forward well.

Hopefully not for good but if so, it’s been a good run.

Japan doesn’t deserve to win and Croatia doesn’t deserve to lose. But on the flip side, you can’t say Croatia deserves to win or Japan deserves to lose.

Agreed! And he did run his ass off! :D

He didn’t look gassed, so I’m scratching my head for the strategy…he’s gotta be one of your best PK takers.

Croatia was the better team overall. You really saw their depth in extra time. They subbed off 5-6 players and they were still able to press. Japan had to go deeper into a shell and hope for a counter.

Too bad this game has to be settled by PKs.

  24. When they did get forward Japan was more dangerous.. Japan with some poor PKs. Croatia advances.
