Extended highlights , before it gets deleted.

At 2:36 you could see RDP running 40 yards, pressing 3 Australian players at once and force them into a mistake.

Watch 6:30 Palacios comes to intercept then inexplicably goes hands off as if he's worried to cause a penalty. Should have taken him out dont take chances. Tactical fouls are necessary

by the way looks like Scaloni was forced to take out Papu due to injury

I think our defenders held their own well, I don't see how we could put any of them at fault.

In the last 20 minutes Australia, losing 2-0, went suicidal (rightly so), and they were bound to get some chances. They ended up getting the fluke goal and two other clear chances - one the nice run that Lisandro saved and then the save by Dibu at the end. During that same time, I think Argentina had at least eight clear chances, but couldn't convert. I'll take that ratio anytime.

If you want to fault anybody, look at our forwards for not converting. And, I don't mean to pile on Lautaro, but he's the number one reason why we suffered until the 97th minute.

Also, most importantly, I think his leadership skills has improved. He's not perfect, but he's a much better leader now and you can tell how much the young lads in the team look up to him and listen to him when he speaks.

From what I've seen quotes of other managers, Messi talk about tactics with coaches and maybe this might improved his decision making and playmaking.

Nothing against Papu, he did pretty well in first half.

Messi goal against Australia was our first goal in this tournament that came from our traditional triangle passing game. We made Italy suffered with that in second half and I hope we could see that more often rather than having the backline to play the ball all the time.

So many scary moments in this game due to backpassing. A strong side would have punished one or two misspassing in our own final third.

It seems that Scaloni strategy in this tournament has always been playing conservatively until we get the first goal. We need to keep preasure and kill them game off.

By the way, I normally do not like blaming the ref for things but this Polish ref was god awful. Anytime the Aussies went down it was a whistle. Not to mention, when it was still 2-0, the Australia player should’ve received his second yellow on his foul on Lautaro.

The referring and VAR had been awful. I just hope for our next match, we do not get that clown Sampaio for our match.

The main forum is the most UEFA biased CONMEBOL hater corner of the internet. They dont even rate Messi properly. They are anti futbol. Imagine hating the Argentina NT and ignoring Messi....they really have no idea.

Even reddit understands more and praises our NT and goes crazy over Messi INCREDIBLE and MARADONIAN performance. Not this forum.

Anyways, thank god for you guys and this subforum.

Reddit is worse is you look at enough threads. The one with the Uruguayan players complaining to the refs was pretty disgusting with lots of anti-Uruguayan and anti-Argentine sentiment. It’s been a while and I wasn’t alive for 86. We’ve been through a lot. Let’s win this thing so we can tell all the haters to F off.

Against Netherland, it better to start 3-5-2. More attack and support from full backs and more solid at the back.

Di Maria i think he should come in second half.

Our go around 7:25 when Lautaro could’ve backheeled to Montiel and Montiel could’ve given a pass to Nico for a tap in.

Lautaro sometimes tries too hard. He forces things that do not need to be forced. Help your team in other ways.

So, with a 3-5-2, we go with Cuti, Licha, and Ota and with Acuña, and Molina. And in the midfield with Enzo, Mac and RDP, so our forwards would be Messi and Julian?

I think we’ll need ADM to run at the Dutch defenders.

YouTube are being really brutal about taking down World Cup footage, even fancam stuff. I was uploading like crazy at Russia 2018, but this tournament they're blocking and taking down stuff left right and center. I know the golden rule is not to point the camera at the screen in the stadium so not to get any of their footage, but they seem to be taking down stuff even without that

Now that he can't dribble like he used to, he has to rely more on smart play. I see him as more Maradona-like than before when he really wasn't that similar.
