hard to know. Dutch never really got out of third gear cause they didn’t have to.

LVG - sitting back deep in the first half, subbing early and pressing us more with a two goal lead, all of his subs worked. A Grade for LVG.

My wife was commenting on my commenting on the game here. It occurred to me I have been watching games with you folks for like 30 years.

I love you all. You’re the best. Always a pleasure watching with you

We can nitpick for days but we ran into a better team who was also a bad match up. We were never in it but I don't know that there was a winning approach to this game without some best ever type performances from multiple players and we got none of those. On to 2026.

Eh, I don’t know about that. I think they viewed us with respect, put together a plan and executed it dang near perfectly.

Yep. I think I'm disappointed because this game was winnable and in the grand scheme of things/compared to other teams, we were mostly healthy. No guarantees that most of our stars (whoever they are in 2026) will be healthy at the right time.

That was fun. These guys gave us excitement and hope. Unfortunately, I think Berhalter is staying for another cycle.

Still proud of these kids. My children. But can we now just lose the hubris and analyze rationally what went wrong?

We are going to be awfully dangerous in four years if we get a coach who knows what he’s doing. The next coaching decision will be critical.

Come on guys, US have been awesome this WC. Put the scare on teams with the high press. In my opinion ballsy AsFk.
Well played, you should be proud.

I also wonder if Scally would have tracked back better on those crosses. I suspect yes. But he wouldn’t have been as dangerous going forward.

GGG’s decision to run out the same players cost us in the end. Leaving off players like EPB and Pepi cost us in the end. Leaving Gio, Scally, DLT and Aaronson on the bench for most of the tournament cost us in the end. Greg out

Agreed. These boys have a lot going for them. The core of MMA plus Weah, Dest, and hopefully Reyna and Aaronson. Turner also looked quite good. But we need some better center backs. Beyond our lack of consistent scoring, to take a step up, that is where we need to improve. Mostly in the passing area.

Agree with this. I don't really care for the studio crew analysis. Example: Clint at halftime saying that the team needed more urgency. I'd argue that wasn't the issue - if anything, they were too much like a bull in a china shop/not having enough patience. Effort/fight was definitely not the issue. Fatigue for some key players & not rotating more in pool play (maybe due to not putting away Wales/Iran earlier) cost us here.
