Most of our average age is in the goalkeepers, Messi, Di Maria, and Otamendi.. everyone else is young

Musso will recover his form for 2026. Left back Barco and Aude to come in. Garnacho down the left very dynamic unit.

Not sure down the right. Hopefully Foyth continues to progress. Other than that plenty of emerging depth throughout the future seleccion. Perhaps Jose Lopez can keep growing in Brazil as that bigger nine we may need at some point.

I think Agustin Giay has the tools to become a nice attacking fullback with the correct development.

All of them now have WC experience and will theoretically be hitting their prime in the WC26, which is excellent.

After this WC, Scaloni (if he stays) should really be thinking of integrating a new LB with Acuna and Tags being in their 30's. Hopefully, the likes of Carboni, Bernabei, Lautaro Blanco, Valentin Blanco pans out.

    As regards De Paul

I saw something on Twitter suggesting that Messi was an inspirational leader ..

    Giving this example

It noted that at half time Messi told De Paul that there should be no more misplaced passes or he didn’t want to see De Paul’s face after the game

It’s like I predicted after the first couple of games .. the refs are letting too much go .
The cynical players know they can whack a few even injure them ( Neymar now Jesus ) without even getting a warning !!

Two of the world’s best forwards are now effectively out of the WC .

Also Messi and Mitrovic , Foden , Kane plus tigers are all carrying ankle / foot injuries.

I hope they start to give Messi a bit of protection now or he won’t make the final which would be a tragic occurrence

A bit off topic but Pele is apparently in palliative care. So sympathies to those in yellow.

Messi now has 14 goals + 4 assists in 11 games in 2022 for Argentina.

He'll be captain of the u20 in Indonesia for certain along with several others who have not been included like Paz, Carboni etc, etc. This u20 generation is one of the most talented all over for a long time.

I am wondering if they will include Prestiannini as he's currently with the u17's.

Would have been incredible to have seen both of them play together

Do you all remember Lanzini and the form he was in for West Ham before his injury leading up to WC2018? I was excited to see this guy create in our midfield in the tournament.

I can't help but feel he could have been similar to what Mac Allister has done for WC2022.

Similar vibe although Lanzini went into obscurity never was more than a B player. If we had any sense back then we would give the midfield to lo celso and paredes.

Can't help but think that Lanzini's decend into obscurity was largely due to the ACL injury.

You probably do not remember but before his injury, he was an awesome player. He connected well with Messi. Quite a shame.

Literally any midfield would've been better than Biglia and Mascherano tbh lol

I wish we still has Biglia & Perez to play alongside Pezzella & Tagliafico. That should be a challange for any sides.

Enzo strong link with Liverpool. MacAllister with Tottenham or Internazionale.

I'd like to see Enzo if he comes to the PL at Manchester United. Mac at Arsenal. Better fits.

I'm not interested in that. Ten Hag would be an excellent coach for him. He would have Casemiro and Fernando's to learn from initially too. Then there is Garnacho and Licha too.

A midfield of Casemiro, Enzo and Fernandes would a good and solid midfield.
